Plateau

Hello, fair readers. This is Certis, making a small change to Fletcher's article. I'm given to understand that a few people have been blocked by their work filters from seeing the front page due to the saucy nature of his opening. I assure you the language is mainly clinical (yet sexy) so while I take no issue with it, apparently the filters do.

August 8th - 14th

Interesting week to look forward to here. First up we have Madden 2006 for every console under the sun. According to IGN, it's less impressive than last year's and shows no real improvement, hurray for exclusive licenses!
My friend Phil has brought me to Best Buy because he's TV shopping and needs moral support. I've never felt entirely comfortable providing this crutch for Phil, because the rate at which the guy buys electronics rivals the rate of growth of Imelda Marcos' shoe collection in the 80s. Where the money comes from, I don't know.

Auto racing is boring except when a car is going at least 172 miles an hour upside down. - Dave Barry

Plastic Razor

I used to have a plastic razor. It had no blade. It was the kind of thing you'd get at a drug store for someone's kid when you had no idea which cartoon mascot they were into. I think I got it in a goody bag at a birthday party, mixed in with a bunch of chocolate discs wrapped in gold foil, a plastic race car and a handful of colored balloons.

August 1st to 7th

Looks like we missed a Week Ahead while I was out on vacation and attending the GWJ Minnesota meet & greet. We had a great time and I didn't even kill anyone for endlessly talking about World of Warcraft although it was a close thing. Slow summer week for games ahead of us, looks like the Ghost Recon 2 Xbox expansion is our Game of the Week almost by default.

Noctis IV

At Fontainebleau State Park, located in Mandeville, Louisiana just north of Lake Pontchartrain, near the terminus of a small scenic loop, a raised walkway may be found.

Psychonauts - Team Review

"You can contact me any time with this piece of bacon." Sometimes a good game just doesn't jump right out at you and scream "Hey, I'm a good game." Other times, it's the other way around. Psychonauts maybe has a little bit of both going on. The Fly and I decided to see what the hubub was all about.

The Retail Game, Part III: What's Next

In the previous two (Part 1, Part 2) segments of this series we examined the policies, methods, tactics, practices, and goals of specialty gaming retail.

July 18th to 24th (Site News)

Very, very slow week for game releases. So slow in fact that there isn't much to talk about so we'll just jump ahead to some site stuff. We are now stationed with our new host and everything is looking good. They realized after we moved in they put us on one of their fuller servers which just isn't going to do at all if we want to maintain a solid level of performance.
