Looks great, and I like how more 4Xs are starting to figure out how to make the exploration part of the game last longer, since that's probably the most fun part of most games. This quickly got tossed on the wishlist. And it looks like Hooded Horse is all over them once they left Sega.
Oh hell yeah, indeed. The first is the only 4x I have "completed" by my standards of winning at least once with every faction and victory condition. I've come close with some others: Endless Space 2 and SMAC (never could stomach playing holier-than-thou Sister Miriam Godwinson). Also debatably finished TW: Warhammer 1+2 if you count those as 4x's, but that gets more murky for me with all the different faction leaders.
Why did I like Endless Legend so much? I wish I could say it was brilliant game mechanics, but no. I pretty much auto-resolved all the battles after my first campaign. I'm just a sucker for any 4x with cool, stylish world-building and highly variable playstyles between factions.

That’s pretty much my experience to a t. I spent many happy dozens of hours with the first game playing with every faction and grappling with the wildly different mechanics between each. That and the engrossing world building have meant that endless legend 1 is the metric by which I measure every other 4x. The answer to the question “would I rather play more of this, or just fire up endless legend instead” is usually just more endless legend.

Oh hell yeah. My favorite 4X bar none.

This was a pleasant surprise. Quite enjoyed the first and I'm very excited to see what they do with the second. I've enjoyed all the Endless games.

Looking forward to it!
