Olympics are over and it's September, so it's about time. Season tips off on October 22.
What I find interesting is that basically, after that initial day of free agency fun (and it's literally like one day), absolutely nothing else of interest has happened during the offseason that was not the Olympics.
Well, other than apparently New Jersey trying to lure the 76ers away which would be one of the biggest shocks of my life (this is all probably just posturing to get a sweetheart deal on a new stadium by Sixers ownership though).
Anyway, here's ESPN's list of potential milestones that could be reached this season.
After becoming the NBA's all-time leading 3-point scorer in 2021, Curry has the chance to become the first player to hit 4,000 3-pointers.
Curry needs 253 3-pointers to hit the mark. He made 357 shots from beyond the arc last season (4.8 per game), and if he continues that pace, he'll reach 4,000 by the Warriors' 52nd game on Feb. 12 against the Mavericks.
Yeah, that's a gimme.
Meanwhile, Caitlin Clarke is probably a lock for RoY after leading the Fever to their first playoff spot since 2016 and notching her second trip-dub tonight (she is the only rookie to ever have one).
Unfortunately, the entire Clarke/Reese discourse online has been so spectacularly toxic, which is sad, because Angel Reese has had a great, great, great year... but I think it's pretty clearly Caitlin's award, and it's not that close.
However, ultimately, none of that matters because my NY Liberty and the Best Mascot In Sports, Ellie, are going back to the finals and getting that chip this season.
Caitlin Clarke liked Taylor Swift's Kamala endorsement.
Her "fans" took it well.
I love America more than any other country in the world, and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually.
Watch me learn to draw.
The ultimate end result of this movement will be to say, "Well then, maybe we shouldn't have women's sports."
I wish you guys would stop encouraging him.

I just love the obvious hypocrisy and cowardice in saying that liking a post qualifies as "getting involved in politics."
I just wish more people would point out that most of the "no politics in sports" people mean "I don't want certain politics in my sports. Harrison Butker is fine though."
