Thanks for including my comment on the show! That made my day.

I also thought it was pretty great that every one of my favorites on the list had already been mentioned in the adjoining discussion. I loved a ton of the others mentioned, like The Incredible Machine!

A few more that popped in my head that I think add to the discussion:
- The Castle of Dr Brain - An old educational game that straddles that question mark of adventure game vs puzzle game.
- Escape Academy - Coop puzzle solving but also time pressure! Would this be better without the time element? I personally think so… but still really emphasizes that point from the show that coop makes puzzles even better!
- Tren - My favorite puzzler of 2023 that is more of a dexterity emphasis than Scuigi and Pink_Stripes would like, but was so charming and adorable and clever.

It was great to be on the show this week. Thanks a lot to Amoebic for the invitation and to Scuigi for joining! And apologies to everyone for keeping it so long but we really enjoyed the chat. I feel like we could have talked for another hour and possibly put everyone to sleep. When Scuigi mentioned coop puzzle games at the end I almost went on a massive tangent but I restrained myself. But one thing I've enjoyed a lot recently is playing some thinky/puzzle games with a friend even if they are single player just by sharing screen on Discord and discussing all the puzzles together. (And you can obviously do this with someone at home.) I am currently playing Chants of Senaar with a friend and it's awesome to try and figure out the languages together.

I will put together a list of recommendations for the Cerebral Puzzle Showcase in a couple of weeks and post it either here or on Discord. I hope people check it out!

There is a similar game called Escape Simulator that I have really enjoyed with a friend and where there is no time limit to the puzzles. You do get an achievement or trophy for completing a puzzle under a certain amount of time but you can totally ignore that.

I looked up Tren and it's a bit of a bummer that it is a Dreams game but it does look very cool!

PS: Also, I never played Zoombinis... I may have to get this...

"What is Lemmings?"

Omg...I feel so old now.

Great show everyone and nice deep dive!
Also fun to hear Podunk Stomp again

I nearly did a Donovan-drinking-the-wrong-grail when Glendon said that lol

Thanks again to both Scuigi and Pink Stripes for bringing their perspectives and experience to the chat! Also for politely humoring me between the breaks

Loved loved loved your discussion of puzzles with amoebic, scuigi and pink stripes. Your perspectives were really enlightening to me. Thank you guys so much!

The Cerebral Puzzle Showcase that we mentioned in this show is up.

I posted some recommendations in the Deals thread here and also in our Discord.

Check it out!
