For stuff about the 2024 election
he really looks like he regrets not backing out of this.
Quoting Orban... He's going all in.
Come on Kamala, swing at some of those softballs. Trump claimed they threw Biden “out of office”. She should have said something like, “Thrown out? He’s there right now. I think you got confused again”.
Only caught it from about 9:30 on.
So far, no great knockouts by either side.
And both sides are acting to their base and to what they think is the way to get undecided people on their side.
Harris by being calm and collected. Trump by ranting and raving and doing a stream of thought attack on Harris.
Oh wow "weak" really pushed his buttons
Broadly, however, if you're undecided, I don't think you're much moved by this.
(I say that in part because everything I read about undecided voters shows me people with the most impossible-to-understand minds on earth.)
Harris should ask him how he knows whether or not Biden has called Putin.
Ezra Klein made the interesting observation that the Trump GOP has really leaned into the whole anti-establishment business to the point that there really is no home for any Republican who actually wants government to accomplish anything at all. Trump's entire appeal is to burn down the government in some kind of cleansing riot.
Kamala appears to be leaning into letting Trump emphasize that part and letting him appeal to his nihilistic base while giving establishment Republicans permission to be part of a coalition of grown ups.
Harris should ask him how he knows whether or not Biden has called Putin.
Wondered that as well
Moderator: “So you don’t have a plan?”
Donny: “I have concepts of a plan.”

Concepts that look suspiciously like Project 2025

Donny: “I have concepts of a plan.”
"...but I'm not President right now."
best part of the quote.
Last break, and Trump has whiffed on hitting Kamala on cost of living, inflation, housing costs, etc. Took him 90 minutes to directly tie her to Biden, which he was surely asked to do.
Of course Trump gets to go last.
Of course Trump gets to go last.
White privilege.

Harris went from exactly even when announced to slight favorite in August but is now a slight underdog.
Kinda surprised it's just not exactly a coin flip currently. I haven't seen any specific battleground polls to say Trump was actually picking up steam.
Sure, but that's tracking vibes of folk willing to bet money on the outcome, not actual likely outcome, right?
i.e. it's just polling a self-selecting sub-group.
One of the reasons I wanted to check today also was to compare pre and post debate.
Even if people don't feel like it's a good data point it's at least a live one.
One prediction market has the election back to exactly even and the betting sites ticked back towards Harris to almost even. Again it's not perfect but probably more indicative than Fox vs NBC instant reactions.

They flipped a coin, and he won.
Fox News saying Trump did bad.

It's too bad the debate wasn't in Pittsburgh so you could make a Jerome Bettis coin flip joke.
Can't wait to watch San Francisco smash New York for the second night in a row.
I feel like tonight was pretty much the same as that Niners/Jets game.
The old man from New York had a couple flashes of his former success, but overall looked like he was in over his head and didn’t have “it” anymore.
San Francisco was a little stiff on the opening drive, but subsequently scored consistently and repeatedly, though a bit too often settling for field goals instead of touchdowns.
Overall, San Francisco had the game in hand, a convincing win but not necessarily their strongest possible performance.
I’m not sure who/what Kamala’s missing Christian McCaffrey is, I can’t take the metaphor that far.

I like you. I’m gonna go find a Golden Gopher to say something nice about.
MSNBC said Taylor Swift just endorsed Harris- elections over, let’s wrap all this up.
Nora O'donnell put it the best tonight
Harris kept chumming the water and Trump kept taking the bait.

Pretty much. However, it's useful to remember how much this matters:
That said, i'm happy to have someone awake, alert, and willing to fight.
Maybe it'll move the needle, but more likely, this election will be decided by 125,000 people in like 5 states.
Much like "never invade Russia in Winter" and "never challenge Canada to a competition of 'let's invent war crimes' ", "never piss off Swifties" is an internet truism.
Well, because someone on the Trump team decided to use AI to create Taylor Swift supporting Trump, she appears to have come out unequivocally in support of Harris/Walz.
This will end badly for Trump.
I think it was made by some random MAGA on Truthsocial and Donny stumbled across it somehow and… sigh… “re-truthed”… it thinking it was real because he’s a dumbass.
Trumpers bought ad time on MSNBC after the debate?
Y'all they out here in these Twitter streets copying us.
