For stuff about the 2024 election
WSJ editorial board commentary is written by AI fed the journal notes of MBA students at Wharton, not actual adults.
Doesn't matter how well Trump does at the debate, the New York Times will make it sound like he's a shrewd and insightful policy wonk.
But if you suggest that the ownership/management of NYT wants Trump to win, you're called "BlueAnon".
Certis flying into the conversation undetected to deliver a pinpoint tactical strike with minimal collateral damage. Justified or forum war crime?

That's some A grade funny right there.
Cease and... assist?
I don't know how fighting Kevin Sorbo and Dean Cain is going to lower costs, but I'm all for it!
Anyone else feeling more dread than excitement about the debate tomorrow?
No, I'm genuinely excited to see the dumb old man get eviscerated. Most likely in an entirely self-inflicted, avoidable way. Like proper shit-your-pants level of making a fool of yourself. I don't even mind if the pants-shitting is metaphorical or not.
My dream is for Harris to listen to one of his rambling nonsensical answers, look him in the face and say "what does that stream of drivel even mean? You can't even string a sentence together, does America want a feeble-minded fool for President?"

But would she say that?

Let's find out!
To me, her campaign has been much punchier than Biden's, much happier to mock Trump and point at how f*cking bananas he is.
Cease and... assist?
Someone's gotta use that for a fantasy hockey team name.
You can't even string a sentence together, does America want a feeble-minded fool for President?"
Throw in "weird" anywhere in that statement and its pure gold!
Yeah she could probably respond to everything throwing in the word weird and Trump will self immolate
Weird Al should moderate...
Read that as Weird AI (like intelligence). Still works.

This would be great, but I fear we’re most likely to get a farcical pigeon playing chess scenario.
When it’s done, the media will give an oh so serious analysis of both the person’s chess strategy and the pigeon’s board desecration, carefully providing neutral, balanced impressions of both sides and avoiding declaration of an outright victor.
Then half the onlookers will point to the pigeon strutting around the shit-covered board and say “that’s our guy! He won!” While the other half looks on in disgusted bewilderment like we’re in an episode of the Twilight Zone.
Although really, we’ve been on the receiving end of a whole season of depressing plot twists, so the end of this particular episode may be merely depressing, not shocking.
I don’t expect the debate to move the needle much in either direction unless Harris absolutely bombs in an unprecedented way or Trump can’t stop himself from dropping racial slurs.
After Biden’s final performance the bar for this one is on the floor.
Trump is claiming Kamala Harris is an illegal alien.
So the debate is now Alien vs Predator.
You know, we never actually got a movie that lived up to the original Dark Horse comics.
I don't think a movie would be the right format for it
Can't wait to watch San Francisco smash New York for the second night in a row.
I've been passively tracking what the odds markets have for the election.
Harris went from exactly even when announced to slight favorite in August but is now a slight underdog.
Kinda surprised it's just not exactly a coin flip currently. I haven't seen any specific battleground polls to say Trump was actually picking up steam.

Sure, but that's tracking vibes of folk willing to bet money on the outcome, not actual likely outcome, right?
i.e. it's just polling a self-selecting sub-group.

Partly. But ya it's not exactly trending in the best direction.
Outside of actual sports books there are prediction markets who have Trump a slight favorite currently also.
I have so little faith in polls anymore.

It's a coin flip based on the battleground polls I think (mainly PA). But add in a few big nationwide polls like NYT showing a range between Trump +1 and Harris +1, with the thinking being that Harris needs +2 or more to be competitive in the Electoral College.
The whole thing is really sickening. Even if Harris manages to pull out a win, the fact that it's this close is a damning indictment of the American people.
