For stuff about the 2024 election
"ALL OF OUR ENGAGEMENT IS REAL AND ORGANIC, WHILE KAMALA HAS TO PAY FOR HER FAKE ENGAGEMENT."
Every accusation is a confession. Too bad there are no journalists left to follow the money. We might learn something.
He honestly might think that- it recently came out that one of the largest add buys his campaign has made was on the local network station in Florida because his staff knows he likes to see himself on tv. They did this in DC during the 2020 elections as well. It doesn’t help his campaign at all but it makes him happy.
His people are probably juicing his online numbers as well but all he sees is “number go up.”
I need Tim Walz to complete the name of this game:
Duck, Duck, ___?
He will either reveal he isn’t a true Minnesotan or out of touch with all but like 2.5 states.
I mean, he is from Nebraska. So, he certainly learned it wrong when he was a kid but his two kids grew up here so he definitely knows the right answer.
Just realised what Trump's social media icon reminds me of, it's the Moon from The Mighty Boosh
I'm honestly shocked that post didn't end with "LIKE AND FOLLOW!", it's such chronically online "influencer" babble.

"Free speech" was the reason NY major Fiorello LaGuardia allowed the Bund to hold a Nazi rally in Madison Square Garden.
"If we are for free speech, we have to be for free speech for everybody, and that includes Nazis," [LaGuardia] said.
Of course, afterwards, he was so pissed about the rally that he set his DA to dig up dirt on the Bund and their leader, and got the leader for embezzlement and tax evasion, sending him to prison for a couple of years until his citizenship was revoked and he was deported.
A NY judge also had a more creative solution to that problem too.
“I want you to do anything but kill them,” Perlman warned the organized crime boss.Prominent rabbi Stephen S. Wise, who was on hand to lend clerical gravitas, echoed the judge’s sentiment.
“I’m sorry, but we cannot condone killing,” he said.
“Preacher, don’t the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing?”
And Book replies,
“Quite specific. It is however somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.”
It's a lovely morning in the village and you are a horrible grey duck.
I am sure Free Speech Absolutist Elon Musk has something to sa....
...what's that? Nothing? Just RTing more online nazis?
Well, ya win some.
Trump Videos at Arlington Stir More Fallout After Gravesite Visit
(NYT Paywall)
NPR had a writeup on this yesterday.
It's crying over spilled milk, but in a sane reality, this would completely annihilate his campaign.
In a sane reality, he wouldn't have had a campaign once Obama released his long-form birth certificate.
RFK Jr.: Wife’s reaction to Trump endorsement ‘opposite of encouraging’
Not knowing who RFK Jr. is married to, I learned some things:
1. RFK Jr. married Cheryl Hines in 2014.
2. Cheryl Hines is an actress.
3. Cheryl Hines is an actress who starred on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
4. Curb Your Enthusiasm is a sitcom created by Larry David.
5. In around 2011, Larry David introduced Cheryl Hines to RFK Jr.
Conclusion: Larry David decided to produce a reality show spin-off of Curb Your Enthusiasm, which apparently has been running strong for the past 13 years.
Here’s the takeaway from that article.
Guess it isn’t really surprising that he requires adult supervision.
The environmental lawyer, who suspended his presidential bid last week, said Trump reached out to him shortly after the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. Hines encouraged Kennedy to have a conversation with the GOP nominee. The actress, known for her role in “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” was present in that meeting so no “hasty decisions” would take place, according to Kennedy.
Oh what happened to video proof of no wrong doing?
Just another Trump lie

It’s a shame that Curb has concluded because it would have made a great seasonal arc for Larry to bumble into the presidential campaign of a friend with a roadkill fetish who is also personally responsible for the deaths of almost a hundred people by convincing the Samoan government to halt their emergency vaccine program in the middle of a Measles outbreak.
Literally crazier than most Curb storylines.
Trump suggests he’ll vote to overturn Florida’s six-week abortion ban: "Too short."
Not that anythnig the man says is trustworthy, but goodness, the way he's trying to figure out a way to both be anti-Abortion without dealing with the fact that the people who support him want a blanket, nationwide abortion ban, no exceptions.
They won't, but this would be a great opportunity for a troll from Planned Parenthood.
EDIT:
trump proposing free ivf and shitting on the 6 week abortion ban is so f*cking funny. this is a level of overcompensating I usually only see come from democrats trying to appease some surly swing state independent. Is this his hail mary for the suburban women vote?
I'm putting a sneaky $20 on him telling us his pronouns next.
His typical word salad of an answer isn't an answer.
"I've told them that I want more weeks"
So you'll vote in favor of the amendment?
"I'm voting that... I am going to be voting... that we need more than six weeks."
He never says how he is going to vote for the amendment. It's a yes or no question Donald
I like how Harris responded to Trump's race baiting in her interview:
"Same old, tired Donald. Next question"
When I got to the level in my programming career when the only advancement was management, I begged to not be promoted. I always wondered what people really thought about the old guy still being an individual contributor. Did they wonder what kind of a screwup I was to not be a manager yet? Fortunately it never really came up. At work I never saw the kind of ageism that I see regularly on social media.
I would have been a bad manager.
I might be wrong, but I think you wanted to post that in the funny pictures topic.

Anywhere with that issue isn't worth being at for long.
At all of the places I've worked (ok, only 3 (4 locations) over almost 20 years, but all were big ass mega-corps with a shitton of engineers) had dual track since the 00s. Meaning engineering/tech/IC ladder or the management one. But it was possible to jump between the two with in my view minimal drawback.
Of course, management actually had a higher top level (C-suite) but the IC side could get to the equivalent of a Director/VP/midrange manager which is decent.
Regardless, no one ever has a problem with the old timers (barring some deserved exceptions) as they have SO much experience and knowledge even if not 100% on track with the latest fad tech.
Apparently the new thing is that conservatives have discovered that Tim Walz’ brother is a big MAGA conspiracy guy who hates Walz for his political career and has been estranged from the rest of the family since 2016, and they’re trying to hold that against Walz as though that doesn’t make him even more relatable as a Midwesterner. I don’t think you’re even legally allowed to live in the Midwest without at least one crazy Qanon relative that no longer talks to you.
What's worse than grasping at straws? Because conservatives are really struggling here.
Gasping at Walz.
Would be lovely if Bobby ends up delivering NC to Democrats.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is suing the North Carolina State Board of Elections in a last-ditch attempt to get his name removed the state’s ballot ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
The lawsuit filed in Wake County Superior Court Friday says the board’s denial of his request to remove his name as a third-party presidential candidate violated state election law and his right to free speech, according to The News & Observer and WRAL.
“With November election looming and ballot deadlines fast-approaching, Kennedy has no choice but to turn to this Court for immediate relief,” the lawsuit states.
Since he suspended his campaign and endorsed former President Donald Trump in August, Kennedy has sought to withdraw his name in states where the race could be close, such as North Carolina.
At the same time, Kennedy made an effort to remain on the ballot in states like New York where his presence is unlikely to make a difference in the battle between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Yep leave him on there and let the conspiracy nuts vote for him instead of Trump. Serves them all right
