From Axios: How Harris is subtly addressing race in her campaign
But Harris, who is of Black and South Asian ancestry, hasn't taken the bait as Trump repeatedly has questioned her intelligence and mispronounced her name — the latter a reminder of his past efforts to brand former President Obama as un-American.
Harris doesn't have to bring up race, Trump's doing all the heavy lifting for her. Nothing establishes her racial bona fides quite like a racist white guy's vocal disapproval.
It is hilarious that GOP strategists are convinced that Trump can win so long as he "sticks to policy". Really? What policy has the GOP delivered that has benefitted the American people?

As I understand it, there's the policy where he gave the largest tax cut ever (ignoring that it only helped the rich and added to the national debt).
And the policy where he lies about the rise in violent crime from illegal immigrants, and says he's the only one who can fix it because everyone else is evil and hates America.
Sir, you're on mute. Maybe. Possibly. If he even shows up.
Former President Donald Trump appeared to undercut his campaign’s efforts to keep the same rules in place for his debate against Vice President Kamala Harris next month.
Trump’s team, according to a source familiar with the matter, would like for the microphones to be muted throughout the debate except for the candidate whose turn it is to speak, as was the case during the first debate with President Joe Biden.
But while Trump took aim at what he called the “biased” network Sunday evening – complaining about reporter Jonathan Karl and a panel of “Trump Haters” on his Truth Social platform – he said Monday that he would prefer the mics to stay on.
“We agreed to the same rules, I don’t know, doesn’t matter to me, I’d rather have it probably on, but the agreement was that it would be the same as it was last time,” Trump said when asked by a reporter if he wanted the microphones muted during the debate when the candidate is not speaking.
Trump also again cast doubt on whether he would participate in the debate.
“When I looked at the hostility of that, I said, ‘Why am I doing it? Let’s do it with another network.’ I want to do it,” Trump said
I don't know which would be better for Harris.
Trump shows up and the microphones are not muted, or Trump doesn't show up at all.
If the mics stay muted, Trump is going to continue to ramble when they cut his mic and Harris is going to end up spending her time speaking to what Trump was saying that we couldn't hear. It would go as follows:
Trump- blah blah immigration, sad, blah blah, inflation, blah blah disaster....
Mic cuts out. Trump keeps talking
Harris- I just want to call attention to what Mr. Trump just said after his time was up. What he said is just complete nonsense and not based in facts. Now, as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted...
Rinse and repeat
I remember post-mortems of the last Biden/Trump debate that suggested the muted mics worked in Trump’s favor because not being able to interject and mumble criticisms like he did during the 2016 and 2020 debates made him seem less unhinged than usual.

What a low bar to set for a candidate for the most powerful job in the world.
Give that man the nuclear codes!
again...
We remembered to change them when he left, right? RIGHT?!
It’s okay, he’s just using them to prop up a wobbly table at Mar-a-lago.
Trump, speaking to the National Guard Association of the United States, vowed to push for a “Space National Guard” if he is elected in November. Trump signed the bill that created Space Force, the sixth and newest branch of the U.S. military, in 2019.
He can't even do "11yo Boy As President" right.
Space Marines. Now.
a “Space National Guard”
He got the idea from ALF.

You still have 10 weeks to go!!
10 weeks.
You could run 3 entire French elections or 2 UK elections in the time between now and your polling day to end this campaign which kicked off even before the January caucas events.
What a mind boggling amount of time it takes for you to run your process.

Don't forget the mind-boggling amount of money it takes. I think fundraising for this election already began on November 4th, 2020.
In Germany, posters, etc. can only go up 6-7 weeks before the actual election date and have to be removed a week later.
Back on topic, I love the energy that the Democrats have had since Biden stepped down and Harris was the presumptive nominee. It has been met with significant relief in Germany as well, though there is trepidation that Trump could somehow still pull this off.
I'm sure all those "constitutional conservatives" are going to speak up to rebuke Trump's "We’ll make it constitutional" comment.
Any moment now...
First, they'll make it so that "freedom of speech" only applies to the speech they want us to care about.
Next, "freedom of the press" will no longer apply to anything that the government decides is Fake News.
Then "freedom of religion" will only pertain to their religion and not any others.
Finally, "peaceful assembly" will change to only apply to groups of people they actually like, like the January 6th protesters and the "very fine people" in Charlottesville.
Then they'll have one amendment down. Only 26 more to go!

All we need is the second amendment. All the other ones can f*ck off.
Only the best people
Donald J. Trump plans to name his former rival, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Tulsi Gabbard, a one-time Democrat, as honorary co-chairs of a presidential transition team that will help him select the policies and personnel of any second Trump administration, according to a campaign senior adviser.
Mr. Kennedy and Ms. Gabbard, who had been progressive Democrats for many years, will join the former president’s sons and Senator JD Vance, his running mate, as honorary co-chairs.
It’s unclear what exactly she and Mr. Kennedy will do in their transition roles, but they will join Mr. Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, as well as his running mate, Senator JD Vance, as honorary chairs of the transition.
It's perfectly clear. They will continue the grift.

The money is why the process takes so long. Fundraising never ends, and no record-setting amount is ever enough. Campaigns have ended with millions of unspent dollars because they raised so much money they literally could not spend it all before the election, but they continued to ask daily for more.

You say that like SCOTUS hasn't been doing all of those things for decades.

This is good mojo for the Harris campaign, since every attempt RFK Jr makes at gaining a political election or appointment ends in failure. The Trump campaign might as well line up a bunch of mirrors and smash them.

Anyone who ever voted to help anyone is a progressive Democrat.

Is it wrong to want Trump to keep RFK Jr on his ticket?
RFK Jr. vows to stop chemtrails after watching video pushing conspiracy
RFK Jr. revealed in a reply to a video on X that he believes in the conspiracy theory that planes drop chemicals while flying to kill off the public. Trump said on Sunday that RFK Jr. would tackle health issues under a potential future administration.Apparently, stopping chemtrails is a high priority.
