MLB 2024 Season - October is Upon Us

Looks like the O’s have their get right series against the world champs.

I just got out of Camden Yards where I just watched another super exciting nail biter. Kimbrel is amazing

There's aggressive baserunning and then there's this kid. Sheesh!

HAPPY BOBBY BONILLA DAY!!!

Switching to happy Shohei day in 10 years.

Also I didn't know about this interesting detail that may have contributed to the contract they gave Bonilla

At the time, Mets ownership was invested in a Bernie Madoff account that promised double-digit returns, and the Mets were poised to make a significant profit if the Madoff account delivered -- but that did not work out.

Such a Mets thing to do.

Apparently the cycle bet was still live the whole game until he got it. I saw various slips of people winning last night from early bets of +3000 still something like +1500, which was basically just betting he could hit a home run, with better odds, at that point.

Wish I had seen the bet. Was watching the game and aware it could happen but didn't figure that was a live bet you could make. Sheesh.

Judge fails to go 4 for 4, blows it for the Yankees again.

3 of their 6 hits. Yes, totally his fault.

If it wasn't for Judge, the Yankees would be in third place in the East.

Well I expect him to make up for his choke yesterday by going 5 for 4 today. Also he should get some men on base so his home runs actually matter.

I meant to post this, from July 1:

Aaron Judge last 50 games
.398/.507/.932 (1.439 OPS)

That is the highest OPS over any 50-game season span by a right-handed hitter. EVER.

He's also basically matched Bryce Harper's 2021 MVP season already.

If Judge gets hurt before the all star break, the Yankees aren't making the playoffs.

Come on, Stanton will be back by then. We got nothin to worry about!

I will say it's interesting that they've been playing--pitching in particular--much worse since Cole's been back in the lineup.

Yankees lose to the Reds? Again?

Judge actually kinda blew it this time.

Yankees haven't won a series since early June!

If you are weak like me, OOTP 25 is $25 until July 11.

Excited to get irrationally angry at every single Yankee not named Arron Judge or Juan Soto, just like in real life.

Oh thank God.

What's the big deal? Will Smith, from Louisville, hit 3 HR for the Dodgers last night.

The O's pitching apparently took the day off.

And another in the first tonight. Whoa

A few days late, but I'd like to mark the holiday:

Just watched yesterday's Twins-Astros recap... holy cow. Twins came within a run of tying the game by scoring 7 runs with TWO outs. That would have been the largest two-out ninth inning comeback ever.

Also, PN's filthiest pitches of the day are always a fun watch. It is genuinely insane anyone manages to hit a baseball at any time, ever.

Banner image continues to apply.

Related: The Yankees have not stolen a base since June 14.

Not a Yankee. The Yankees. All of them.

But I swear the Yankees stole 9 bases one night. FOX Sat or ESPN Sun game. I guess they blew their monthly allotment in one game?

Skenes has Skenes'd again today.

Greene too. Big afternoon

It is frankly, astonishing that the Yankees, who haven't won any of their last eight series and haven't won back-to-back games since June 11-12 are somehow two games back of Baltimore for the AL East lead.
