College Football 2024-2025 Catch All

Louisville looked sharp. Yeah it was Austin Peay but we covered the spread in the first half and the over all by ourselves in the second. Lots of good time for the backups. On to week 2.

Dawgs crush the fighting Dabos and the Gators get crushed.

So, Fresno’s down by 6, 16-10 with 10 minutes left.

EDIT: Well that was fun for a minute. Defense finally cracked and now it’s 23-10.

Win for the Orange. I am happy.

Notre Dames Oline was a hot mess for much of the game, but part of that was simply facing TAMU’s Dline. Scourton made our starting left tackle look like a freshman in his first start (in part because he was…).

Tough loss, Fed, but Elko will have them really scaring people soon enough. He’s a great coach.

Where is Fed? Don't remember him posting the last couple seasons...

Gonna leave this here…

SEC 1-3 vs ranked teams... interesting.

Wow FSU. Really?

Lost in Ireland. Lost to the catholic safe-school for most of this teams fans.

Will FSU continue to find ways to lose to Notre Dame by proxy?

I’d be happy for them to lose directly on November 9 in South Bend…

As expected, Cal won.. As expected, we didn't beat the spread, and the 1st half we simply looked awful. Time of Possession in the first half was like 19/11 in favor of UC Davis and like 2 minutes of that was Cal basically running bunch of time off the clock before punting. Aside from a touchdown drive, I think all of our other drives were 3-and-out (or one-and-out when the backup RB fumbled on his first carry). Maybe we were saving it for Auburn.. but our team just isn't good enough to just play vanilla offense/defense and expect to beat even an FCS team.

That being said Oregon also struggled with a Big Sky team so I guess we're just as good as they are.

Most importantly, Jaydn Ott got rolled up on, and as usual the team is going to be mum until Saturday.

Now, its Auburn week. I'll say if we played like we did in the first half, we'll lose by 40, if we play like we did in the second half we'll lose by 10. We're going to have to be a lot better than either if we want any chance to pull off the upset.

Thankfully my streak of going to warm climates but getting moderate weather looks to be on track. A few years ago, it was actually hotter in San Francisco than in North Carolina, Texas and Ole Miss were Night and Early games respectively. Right now despite a 2:30pm kickoff weather is looking to be low 80s. For someone living in San Francisco, that's still hot, but I know what it could be. Maybe showers on Friday so that will put a damper on my day exploring Atlanta, but I'll have a car.

My wife and I are going to see Virginia Tech host Marshall this weekend.

Never seen any college football game, except for bits and pieces on TV, but we are looking forward to a nice weekend. We get back home at about 3am monday morning, which is going to suck, but such is life.

If you're going to get the whole CFB experience, try and show up a while before kickoff and check out the tailgate.

That's the plan. We are staying in Roanoke, which is about 45 minutes from the field. We plan on showing up in the morning, and then wandering around all day until the kickoff, which is at 4:30(ish).

Colorado School of Mines punter Blake Doud just uncorked an 80-yard punt that was downed at the one-yard line. Not a typo. Eighty.

...we're.... so back.

Easy to talk it, but you gotta walk it too, Buffs.

Who had Josh Heupel's Tennessee team having a dominating defense on their bingo card?

NC State kind of folded they were getting hammered so hard after that pick 6 in the 2nd.

So Miami, Louisville, Cal, Syracuse? That's the real ACC power index?

GT faded. NCSU all hype. FSU just trying to make a bowl.

Where’s the shake my head emoji for Notre Dame’s performance?? Damn.

Somehow they rank BC? For beating an FSU team that we knew was bad. Instead of Syracuse for beating the team that beat FSU? Weird...

I mean I don't want to get into conspiracies like some football fans on Twitter. But let's see who BC plays next week...

Oh, Mizzou? So you're giving the SEC a sacrificial "ranked team" to prop up the justification for ranking them.
