Louisville at 26

We beat Miami and NCSU both at their places last year. Most of our defense is back and we got a much better QB in the portal.

Sure, whatever

I guarantee Miami isn't back, no matter how much the media wants them to be. Same shit for 20+ years now and only one ACC Championship appearance

We made it y'all. Game week.

The "Best Team Photos" competition has been won, handily, by the Colorado School of Mines football team.

Can anyone link me to a decent, conference-by-conference season preview?

I don't need super-in-depth analysis, just one that's like "here's where we think everyone will finish, here's one player who is good."

So I can seem semi-educated on what's going on before Week 8, like usual.

I guarantee WSU and Oregon State will finish top-2 in the PAC-12.

They should just play each other all season.

The fact that Florida State @ Ga. Tech has conference implications for Cal makes me sad.

Speaking of which...

Hi..new conference… is this a quality loss?

It's something. First top 10 win since the last time they beat FSU

All losses to the Irish are quality losses.

Cal is -20.5 against FCS team UC Davis.

Cal should most definitely win, but smart money will take Davis and the points.

Jaydn Ott may be the best RB in the country, but we still don't know who our starting QB is. Heck in EA NCAA 25 if you play a quick game its Fernando Mendoza, if you play in Dynasty its Chandler Rogers. Between First Game rust, QB uncertainty and thinking about Auburn next week, I don't think we'll cover.

So BTNetwork is in a dispute with Comcast, so I may not be able to watch my publicly funded alma mater (UW) in their first game. The institution I paid a lot of money to, and continue to support via taxes and volunteer hours.

The reason your team is on the big10 network and mine is on the acc network to begin with is because the pac-12 network overplayed its weak hand and all the other distributors called their bluff. Same story, different network. If any of our programs thought the tuition, taxes, volunteers, and booster donations were enough we'd still be in the Pac-12.

The good news is that your first 4 games are in Seattle, so there's definitely a way to watch that's a lot better than on TV and by the time you get around to your first thrilling away game @Rutgers I'm sure the TV thing will all be sorted!

Thursday depth chart released and Cal's starting QB against UC Davis is:

Fernando Mendoza OR Chandler Rogers

Personally I think this is Fernando's job. Clearly no one has stood out at camp so you would assume the incumbent gets the benefit of the doubt. Maybe we switch to Chandler Rogers in the 2nd half just to make sure? I'm very much hoping we get it figure out before Auburn next week. I'd love to think there's some 4D chess going on here but i highly doubt it.

Anybody got tips on opening your season on the road against the defending national champion?

Rewatch App State v. Michigan over and over and over again.

DON'T.

OPEN.

YOUR.

SEASON.

AGAINST.

NORTH DAKOTA STATE.

Year after year, no-one gets this!

Hey I listened. Bet the cover and no problem.

A game that will give everyone ammo. Either they beat a better-than-you-think ND State team, or they barely beat a FCS school.

Cal's team of bloggers did its score predictions.

Only 2 of 7 predicted we'd cover. Usually Vegas is the smartest person in the room by far, but there's no bigger group of Cal homers out there and 5 out of 7 say we won't cover.

Vegas had UNC by 2 last night. Minnesota missed FG as time expired to lose by 2.

They are pretty smart sometimes.

Taking the family to see Akron ritually sacrificed to Ohio State. Wish me luck!

Now that Cal is part of the ACC i have to change the conference on my ESPN and out of town scoreboard apps to see scores. UVA is playing Richmond.. I've always known Richmond was the Spiders from basketball. I didn't know that their logo is like a common house spider. Maybe they want to stay out of copyright issues with Marvel? Looks like a cheap halloween decoration. Figured they would go more fearsome or more comical or something.. nope.. regular house spider.

That’s the wrong Spider-Man!
