Something like this:

Not sure if adding an extra game or short weeks is worse for the players.

Step 1: add a second bye week
Step 2: Thursday night games only played by teams coming off a bye week

Thursday night football fixed, NFL gets an extra week of TV broadcasts, players get extra rest without extra work.

3 start season on Labor Day weekend?

Don't push it further into January.

Works for me.

I'd throw in extend the trade deadline until December even.

Yup makes sense.

Legion Niners advertising for Chief of Staff.

Apply!

Anyone caught trying to do those jiu jitsu heel hooks should get their asses kicked. I noticed that a couple of the Cincy players were doing that and the Steelers are notorious for it. I swear they teach that in Pittsburgh and use it to draw penalties when players retaliate. If you don’t let go of someone’s ankle after the whistle, you should get your face stomped.

This makes so much sense but of course they won’t do it…2 byes would probably help the end product as well.

"Legion. We think you're Niners material. Especially with your GIF game. When can you start? Please reply with a GIF so we know it's really you."

There are a lot of local Lamar haters talking about how they think Joe Flacco will lead the Browns to an afc championship. SMH

Flacco had no bigger fan than me during his time in Baltimore. I stood by him long after it was clear he was the thing holding us back. Out of loyalty, I failed to see the obvious. That being that his style of football is and was obsolete.

He may have been the greatest long ball pitcher that the ravens ever had, but the game is different now. Even mediocre teams have pass rushers that can apply real pressure in 3 seconds. And if you don’t have the wheels to erase that pressure yourself, you better have a 2.5 second release. The great ones have both and still get derided by pocket passer purists as “streetball players”. Flacco has neither and would get ground to bone meal.

Going to get the Niners 2 weeks in a row for afternoon games TV here in NC? That's crazy.

No of course not. sh*tty Jets vs sh*tty Bills is the 4pm game in this dumb state. Nobody wants that

Jags taking that embarrassing loss last week out on the Titans this week.

Mayo Boy looked pretty crappy against the Bucs last week, apparently his one good game wasn't a large enough sample size to declare him Officially Good.

Goff is now up to three INTs in this game. The Bears are looking like they may really screw up their draft pick. Fortunately, they've got that other one . . .

Edit: Or not. Chicago, good lord, that has to be one of the most painful losses I've seen in a while.

What a Jets way to start a game.

I was ready to come in here and proclaim the Lions frauds.

Jake Moody NOTCHES a 37 yard field goal to maintain his absolute perfection of sub-40 yard accuracy.

Panthers safety Xavier Woods debuted a new move today: the horsemask (alternately known as the face-collar). It's when you get flagged for a facemask and a horse-collar tackle on the same play.

The good news is that new-old playcaller Frank Reich got one more TD out of his offense this week than a week ago, which is to say one total.

Live look at Reich's post-game presser:

The dump that Snyder built.

To be fair, on the Bears' last offensive possession, Fields threw a nice ball down the left side to a WR who inexplicably slowed up while the ball was in the air, and it wound up being just out of his reach. Had that guy not crapped himself, the Lions lose that one.

Jake Moody LAYS UP a 28 yard chip shot, still perfect below 40.

Jake Camarda sure does thump the ball.

Aiyuk might have sent his defender to the injured list.

If the Niners would hang onto any of these INTs, this game would be over already.

EDIT: FINALLY. Caught the 4th one.

What's going to last longer? Staley as head coach of the Chargers or a slice of bread before turning stale?

49ers safety Talanoa Hufanga believed to have suffered an ACL tear. Dammit.

... okay...

When you have $77 million in dead cap charges, having a good punter is a prudent idea.

Well entertaining game tonight after all.

Brandon Staley's press conference was quite something today.
