Niners are playing like a team that last played 6 days ago playing against a team who last played 14 days ago. Such bullsh*t scheduling. I’m surprised it wasn’t an 1pm EST road game too.
Hey Niners pick up a fumble. Needed that.
Rushing Purdy back from concussion is not looking like a smart idea.
Purdy just did a Mahomes though.
Ravens cruising now. Just needed a turnover and momentum has been all Baltimore since

Not enough to overcome the back-to-back gift giveaways that came before.
Niners D better go find those trades.
Should of put Darnold in already.
This is one way to break a young QB.
Tough day for Taylor's boyfriend.
Baltimore putting Nelson Agholor in on the hands team for the onsides kick attempt is a headscratcher.
What's this? What's this?
SEA in first place?!

Will any of the trades help the secondary stop getting beat constantly in zone coverage?
Is anyone actually good this year anyone at all?

No…it’s literally the league office dream season. It’s a week to week pray you don’t get injuries league. There’s only a few teams right now that have no chance but otherwise it’s gonna be whoever puts together 3 or 4 good games come playoffs and is the most healthy.
Watching the Giants last night made me angry. The plan seemed to be simply to hang on to a 3-point lead by using the Barkley and punter, Gillan to maintain an advantage in terms of field position. Patricia Traina in Sport Illustrated articulated things better than I can:
I initially vented in my podcast about why the Giants, who knew that for as long as Daniel Jones was sidelined, they were always one snap away from having to put Tommy DeVito in the game, reached that point only to keep the ball out of DeVito's hands as much as possible.
With DeVito, an undrafted rookie free agent, here since the spring, one would think he knows the system well enough to function in it, right? So you'd think.
But in mulling this over, perhaps it was a case of either DeVito not getting many, if any, of the team reps in practice last week to where perhaps the coaches were uncomfortable with him leading that part of the offense, or DeVito just isn't developed enough for their liking.
And if that's the case, then why didn't the Giants look to add a veteran quarterback to the practice squad?
Now? With Taylor potentially looking at missing next week's game and Jones's status still up in the air, the Giants are almost certainly going to have to address the quarterback spot.
In addition, I now fear for Barkley health and - obviously - productivity this season. He put in a Stakhanovite performance yesterday, but he won't be able to deliver that for another 9 games without a passing game too.

As much as I agree with you about the randomness factor reducing the entertainment value, contrast with NCAA where so many matchups are completely out of whack from a competitiveness standpoint.
I still prefer NFL because anything can happen. But it is getting a bit tiresome to have what seems to be zero predictability and non-game-related things like injury having too much impact on the outcome. That's not a fun sport to watch.
I've found myself tuning in with more of an attitude of, "Welp! Who knows!?"
Kendrick Bourne tore his ACL yesterday. This is really a cursed season for the Patriots.

In the same vein, I also don't feel a lot of hype for possible playoff matchups. Maybe 49ers vs Eagles and I'm not so sure anymore.
There's been a serious uptick in Achilles injuries in recent years, hasn't there? It used to be ACLs were the common year-ending injury, but Achilles seem to be happening left and right, and I just don't recall that being A Thing prior to the last few years.
You know who loves all this? Gamblers!
Gambling doesn't care because the action is the juice.
But I know I've been watching WAY less NFL than before as I've got way more other options with my time. I get pop ups for Sunday Ticket and Past Top_Shelf would have been intrigued to consume moar football!!! but now, even when I target a non-SEA game, it's a coin flip on if it will be good (SF/DAL, etc). Nuts to that. I'll go watch some YT video on other topics I like or catch up on NF or work the backlog or watch Harry Potter for the thousandth time.
Rashan Gary gets an extension. Yay.
Was bit confused + worried when his name got added to trade deadline targets. It was probably just lazy rumor mill fodder because he was a FA. Really didn't make sense to move him unless it was some absurd package of picks. Even then what's the outcome? You end up just trying to redraft a player of his quality.
Otherwise the Packers suck. Matt LaFleur is now clearly trending into going to get fired territory.
If the Packers actually had knee jerk owner maybe that would happen + a tank job for rest year.
Not sure if they are top #1 pick bad especially since they have a soft schedule. They could be top 5 bad though. If that's the case Jordan Love needs to show more down the stretch because they won't be drafting him protection or a WR but his replacement.
The 49ers are apparently one of 3 teams sniffing around Bears CB Jaylon Johnson, with Dallas and Buffalo being the others.
Am I the only one who hears a record scratch whenever Kurt Warner comes on TV to counsel moderation with sending one's wages to Sin City?
I mean, at least Jamie Foxx' MGM ads fit from a branding standpoint.
The G in Jimmy G stands for "Good God, can't you throw to a receiver?"
The G in Jimmy G stands for "Good God, can't you throw to a receiver?"
And for "Gonna throw the most interceptions in the league even if I miss half the games because I'm made of glass."
And the R in Raiders is for "run, Jahmyr, we can't tackle you"
Someone save Davante already.
The Bears are clearly in rebuilding mode and have all sorts of questions, and it's expected they'd be active at the trade deadline to help build some draft capital for the future. So, of course, they're actually trading a 2nd rounder to Washington for Montez Sweat. Who is in a contract year.
They're trading a high second rounder to be able to negotiate with someone a bit earlier than before rather than trying to, you know, build through the draft. That organization continues to amaze.
Yeah, when I saw that trade notification pop, it was a bit of a head-scratcher.
There's no way the Bears are in 2023 contention mode, so this has to be a move with the expectation that they're going to lock him down long-term.
It's a lot like the Roquan Smith trade, ironically enough, but this time Chicago's the buyer and not the seller.
I've seen reactions that the Bears could have just waited for Sweat to enter free agency next year, but that assumes that whatever team did trade for him wouldn't turn around and either extend or franchise tag him before that could happen.
The Bears paid a 2nd in order to have the ability to franchise tag Sweat, and in turn have the negotiating leverage that the tag imparts. It means they get to negotiate an extension without an open market bidding war.
Of course, the flip side of using the franchise tag for leverage is that you're committed to paying franchise player money. Defensive end tag value will be at least $20m/yr next year, which is a lot for a guy that has never cracked double-digit sacks.
