C'mon Legion. You know what we all want to see happen.

That is disgusting. I'm reporting this to the mods.

The Rodgers trade needed 60% of snaps to get a first round pick. So the Packers can probably kiss that goodbye.

I guess the consolation though is without Rodgers a 2nd round pick could still be pretty high.

Not sure the Jets D alone can carry this team to a winning record. They do get 2 games vs Josh Allen though.

WSJ headline: "It took 3 Plays for the Jets' Aaron Rodgers Experiment to Combust"

Poor Greeny.

A friend of a friend took Kelce, Rodgers, and Dobbins in his fantasy league. The worst part is that it is a loser penalty league so he is terrified that he is going to end up with the tramp stamp at the end of the season.

This got me thinking about how to fix tanking in the NFL. Owner of the team in each conference with the worst record gets a tramp stamp designed and voted on by the division rival team's fans.

Between the beatdown of the Giants, the ACL tear, and somehow Buffalo losing to the Jets after Qaaron happened, is this the single worst week for New York (Jersey) football ever?

Jordan Whitehead has a $250k incentive for three INTs in a season. He has never done that in his career.

Until last night.

He's made his money on day one.

To repeat and obvious joke, Whitehead started his career in Tampa, where he was a teammate of Jameis Winston. It should surprise no one that he knows how to intercept passes, as he undoubtedly got lots of chances in practice.

Sweet, I get to use this a second time.

Every time the Jets and the Bills play each other I'm somehow hoping that both teams lose. Last night, my wish actually became true.

Sadly, former Bucs WR Mike Williams has passed away from the injuries sustained in that construction site accident.

He had come off life support and was responsive and breathing on his own as of a couple of days ago, so I was hopeful for recovery, but I guess it was not to be.

Maybe the Jets will actually replace that turf now. That crap has taken more legs than Frank Purdue.

FIXED!

Do I want to see Carson Wentz on the Jets, or have they suffered enough already? I can't decide.

I wonder how this guy would look in green?

Funny you should say that. This notification just popped up on my phone…

How sh*t would it be for Kaepernick to finally get a comeback shot, just to get eaten up by the MetLife turf monster?

In a related vein, Jim Trotter sues NFL over firing from NFL Network:

After recounting the NFL’s alleged history of systemic race discrimination (citing years of resisting integration, the blackballing of Colin Kaepernick, the alleged misconduct of Jon Gruden, the race-norming in the concussion settlement, the alleged attempt to pander in 2020, the alleged attempt to pander after the filing of the Brian Flores lawsuit, numerous instances of alleged bigotry from owners, and alleged barriers for Black leaders within the NFL), Trotter alleges that he was the victim of discrimination on the basis of race and/or color, along with retaliation for his efforts to raise concerns within the workplace about racial discrimination.

Trotter, who has since accepted employment with TheAthletic.com, alleges that he was subjected to disparate treatment, that he was exposed to a hostile work environment, and that race and/or retaliation contributed to the NFL’s decision to not give him a new contract.

Even more related:

The lawsuit filed Tuesday by veteran reporter Jim Trotter against the NFL over the termination of his employment with NFL Network contains a variety of fascinating and newsworthy allegations. The most significant arguably comes from comments attributed to Bills owner Terry Pegula.

Beginning at paragraph No. 125 of the civil complaint, Trotter alleges that, during a September 3, 2020 zoom meeting involving roughly 40 NFL Media newsroom employees, an unnamed reporter shared an alleged remark made by Pegula.

“During the meeting, an NFL Media reporter described a conversation he had with . . . Pegula in which Mr. Pegula was specific about the recent emphasis on social activism by NFL players, and in particular support for Black Lives Matter,” the complaint explains. “As reported, Mr. Pegula stated that, ‘If the Black players don’t like it here, they should go back to Africa and see how bad it is. This remark was so offensive and racist that the people in the meeting appeared to be frozen, unsure how to even react.”

The most interesting QB scenario for the Jets that I've heard is taking the 1st rounder that will no longer go to Green Bay, and offering it up to Minnesota for Kirk Cousins.

Minnesota and Cousins seem headed towards a break-up next offseason, and getting a 1st would beat the 3rd round compensatory pick they'd get a year later.

The (perhaps deal-breakingly) hard part for Minnesota would be making the cap part work, because Cousins' contract spreads out bonus money over 3 extra void years, and they'd have to eat that additional $28m now rather than in 2024 as planned. That's tough for a team already eating $41m of dead money this year.

$41 million? AMATEURS.

While I'd love to see the Jets flailing about and spending yet that much more draft capital on another QB, does anyone think Kirk Cousins would make them legitimate contenders in any way?

The AFC looks a lot more winnable than it did a week ago.

The Jets are contenders if they have competent QB play. With that defense, and the offense leaning into the two-headed run game with Hall and Cook, they should be able to do some damage. But not if they're no threat to throw the ball at all.

Cousins or anyone on the Geno Smith tier could succeed on that team IMO. I'm guessing a Geno trade to NYJ is out of the question, but it sure would be funny.

Also, Jason Peters is reportedly signing with Seattle. Doesn't give me lots of confidence in our OT health situation.

Seattle could trade Geno and only eat $8.7m of dead cap. If they got the Jets to throw them that 1st rounder that was going to go to Green Bay, they'd then have an extra 1st to go with an extra 3rd they already have, and could make a trade-up move in what looks to be a rich QB class.

I doubt they trade for a QB with more than 1 year on his deal though, because I'm sure their assumption at this point is Rodgers returning in 2024. In reality, we're probably in for another summer of will-he/won't-he...
