RIP Sinead OConnor

Not sure how she passed, but she did die on the anniversary of her son's suicide.

This podcast is a good breakdown of the extremely hard life she lived and some of the joy she found in it and I do highly recommend it and the podcast in general:

I hope that whatever pain she felt she at least got to feel a little of the joy she brought to many people

Thanks for the recommendation. I discovered her music on a half tuned radio. The static weirdly added to the track. I was transfixed and needed to find out who the singer was as soon as possible. RIP.

I was a bit too young to really understand what happened with Sinead O'Connor. I basically knew her as the target of parodies and references, and nothing else, for years.

As I learned more over time I was enraged for her, she was open and honest and caring and sensitive. And that's not valued in the world. Especially in young women. Most especially those who speak truth to power.

If you see comments to stories about her passing there are still people who haven't forgiven her for being honest.
