NBA 2023-24 Season Catch-All

Thankfully, YouTube recommended the live Dan LeBatard show reactions. Sweet, sweet Miami tears.

Wow Phoenix really wanted out of having Deandre Ayton on the team huh? Also seems like the Bucks gave up a lot losing two starters, a first round pick, and two first round swaps that will probably be pretty good by the time they come around.

I was like woah until I saw Holiday was part of the deal.

Should of kept Holliday over Middleton.

This is my first takeaway as well. Holiday was huge to their title run, but this makes the Bucks interesting and probably placates Giannis in the short term. I'll certainly tune in to watch this.

The Blazers didn't exactly get a haul, but out of all the pieces that were realistically available on the market Ayton makes a lot of sense. As a Blazer fan I’m pleased. That’s probably the best we could do.

The Suns needed depth and it looks like they got it, but what a price to pay.

It's an interesting trade insofar as 2 teams that have an immediate championship window shuffle pieces around while the Blazers continue to build for the future. One of those rare trades that makes a lot of sense for all teams involved, honestly.

I like the deal for the Suns best I think. A big problem for them was going to be a lack of quality role/bench players and they got three rotation guys for one disgruntled project.

I just want Dame to get a shot at a ring. Even if he loses the finals he deserves to make it there once.

Same here. I think most Blazers fans felt this way. We’re under no illusions about how hard it is to build a team in Portland and how far away the team was. So why not find a good trade for us and put Dame somewhere where he could play in the finals? It would be a shame if he never even made it.

Huh. So, Dame to the Bucks then.

Dame is going to Milwaukee as part of a 3-team deal with the Blazers, Bucks and Suns, per
@ChrisBHaynes

This includes:
-Dame to Bucks
-Ayton, Jrue Holiday, and a first to Blazers
-Nurkic to Suns

Huh. Well, definitely gotta tune in to LeBatard tomorrow to hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth in Miami.

Pretty decent way for Milwaukee to convince Giannis they're serious about winning though.

You don't need to wait for tomorrow!

I'm listening to their instant reaction pod right now!

Part of me really wanted Dame to be with his brothers-in-culture in Jimmy and Spo and Riles.

But I'll definitely watch him play with The Freak!

I hope they go back to back.

That was an hour well spent, particularly with Jimmy Butler calling "collusion."

Yeah honestly Miami has won enough for a while. Even though it wasn't the 6 (lol) they wanted, 3 is enough for a good long stretch. 7 finals appearances is plenty.

It is a comically insane run that pretty much any fanbase other than Golden State would swap for in a heartbeat.

Dame dropped a song about leaving. What a time.

LMAO. I love Dame, but this is corny.

This tweet from Tyler Herro about surviving more trade rumors. LMAO.

Dude's beaten everything thrown at him.

Except injury ahead of playoff time.

Jrue to the Celtics for Robert Williams, Malcolm Brogdon, 2 firsts, 3 seconds I think?

The Blazers did really well, overall. Especially if you believe the rumors of Miami's offer. Breaking it into 2 trades was really smart. It would have been hard to do better than the did with the Holiday trade with any of the other secondary pieces that was rumored.

They call still trade Williams if they don't like what they see.

It's funny. I get that he's trolling the media, but he's going to end up with some broadcasters using his NBA2k profile picture again like they did last year.

I believe that's the plan, to which I say, well done.

I was skeptical after the initial trade because I didn't know what and when Holliday would turn into.

Now looking at it. Not too shabby at all really. Especially since they got it done quick before it turned into it's own little circus.

When you rewind to the initial stuff where it was Miami or bust the Blazers made off with a pretty good haul and put the Heat in their place.

I am once again running a Fantasy Basketball league if anyone's interested. I have a few open slots. Live draft is coming up in a few weeks so let me know soon!

Also, truly a "two Americas" situation, because calling that "Andre 3000" is both indicative that a ton of Black people were not Fall Out Boy fans and a grave insult to whoever Andre's hairdresser person was.

Andre:

Look at those split ends. DO NOT call that Andre, that is absolutely shouting out Pete Wentz.

I just hope for Jimmy Butler's sake is that he's left-eye dominant.

I...didn't know he had lip piercings?

Embiid to play for the USA in the Olympics.

Boooooo.

We need Americans committing to random other countries not Embiid flipping over to the dream team.

Although it does create the scenario where the Embiid can't win narrative wins out if they don't win gold.

A lot of enjoying sports is about wishing nothing but misfortunate on someone else, and enjoying their pain.

I bring this up because the Warriors have been awarded a WNBA franchise when they should've given it to Portland since there's already a team in Seattle.

The fingers thing means money.

No way was Portland ever in the running given the ownership situation.
