NCAA Football 2023/2024 Season Catch All!

Sheesh go down 17 points against an FCS team midway through yhe 2nd quarter. Then roll off 31 straight points to win.

I guess it just show that good teams like Georgia and Cal just find ways to win.

I see Nebraska finally found someone that can beat.

Has the Colorado v. Colorado State game started yet?

My Vols just unprepared. Florida was.

Texas at the end of the 3rd, at home, in a 10-10 tie with like the 5th or 6th best Mountain West program.

EDIT: Well it was fun while it lasted.

C-State deserves to lose after that absolutely spineless late punt.

Fresno State beats yet another “Power 5” school in a shutout of Arizona State that wasn’t remotely as close as the 29-0 score.

The two longest win streaks in the FBS are Georgia and Fresno State. The Bulldogs and the Bulldogs.

Wild game. Double overtime. Down to the last play now

I'm going to miss PAC12 after dark

I know polls don't matter, except they do eventually. Just for fun. Louisville is 3-0 with 2 power 5 wins. Those supposedly "mean more" right? And they blanked the FCS team they played 56-0, while a lot of ranked teams have struggled in those tuneup games. And the Cards somehow got 1 less vote this week than last week. A bunch of trash teams ahead of them in "others receiving votes" too like Kentucky who has played 3 nobodies and had close games in a couple.

But limiting it to the actual ranked teams... who actually has a better record than Louisville out of the 25 teams through 3 weeks?

Colorado. That's it. 3-0 against P5 teams.

FSU, Penn St, Utah, UNC, Duke, Wash St. all also have 2 P5 wins, so equal or slightly better/worse, in the same ballpark.

Tenn the only other ranked team that played 2 P5 teams, but they're 1-1.

Also... Michigan, Oregon St, and UCLA all are 3-0 without playing any P5 teams. UCLA somehow jumped into the Top 25 this week while beating no one.

And of course Alabama and Clemson are not 3-0. But they have 0 P5 wins too, since they lost the ones they played. So slightly better than the last 3 that haven't played anyone yet.

The rest of the ranked teams only have 1 P5 win. Even ND that's 4-0 has still only played 1 real game.

Name all the teams, then single out the Pac-12 teams... Both Utah and Oregon State have been in the top 25 since week 0? Utah beat Florida or have we already forgotten that? If you want to complain about pre-season rankings because no one has played anyone, that's fine, but let's not pretend that two pre-season teams in the top 25 just magically leapfrogged your team.

If Louisville goes undefeated, I'm pretty sure you'll be in the FBS playoffs... If you lose just 1 game, well there are only 10 teams or so (9 of which are in the SEC) that can still make the playoffs with a loss. Sorry if you feel you should be in that category.. but if it makes you feel better.. Cal isn't either.

Sorry it was UCLA and Wash St that are new top 25 teams. Got my PAC teams jumbled. Edited above to correct. UCLA are the newly ranked frauds with no good wins.

I'm just looking forward to Oregon beating Colorado by 20+ this weekend so some of the hype for Colorado and Deion can simmer down.

Coach Prime!

Edit: oh Oregon 21 point favorites...

If you can stomach a dose of Danny Kennell, the Cover 3 podcast/youtube show has a good section every Monday, called Poll Assassins. They have just these kind of discussions about the AP poll, and call out voters group think or instances where a certain voter clearly has no idea about the details of specific games.

Yeah, which I think seems about right as long as Oregon doesn't kill themselves with penalties. It's been a bit of an issue this year, especially during that Texas Tech game and it almost cost them.

Gary Parrish did "poll attacks" for college hoops for a few years and it was great. Might check it out

I know another team that’s 3-0 with 2 Power 5 wins… and both of them on the road…

Yep. Fresno St in top 30 from others getting votes. Should be ranked too. Both Louisville games at neutral sites but in the home state of their opponent.

So we go from 0 interesting games (with the Colorado Primes-Colorado State pretending to be interesting) to what, five good games by my count?

Other than Cal at Washington, what are the other 4?

That classic B1G-ACC rivalry!

My Terps are playing MSU this week. Who is their head coach this week?

Sometimes you need Parental Advisory Kirby, and some times you need methodical, one moment at a time Kirby:

If you haven't seen it yet, avail yourself of Chris Russo explaining what he's going to do this weekend. Primarily for Marcus Spears' immaculate reactions.

EDIT: Nevermind, here's the whole thing. The emotional rollercoaster Marcus is on is by far my favorite part.
