[News] They indicted!

100% going to back whatever misinformation and propaganda I can to try and dissuade Republicans from voting. The more they believe that the election is rigged and their votes actually hurt Trump the better.

I remember after the midterms Charlie Kirk kept having people tell him during shows that they didn’t vote because they felt it was all rigged anyway.

That dramatically increase the likelihood of violence

Yeah, I'd rather just make it easier and better for everyone to vote and fix districting and dark money.

Extremely well put, Mixolyde. Thank you.

Trump got arrested.

Per the BBC:

BBC's Kayla Epstein, Madeline Halpert, and Holly Honderich wrote:

The former president, who turned 77 on Wednesday, was allowed to leave court without any restrictions to domestic or international travel. Prosecutors told Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman the defendant was not considered a flight risk.

If he was allowed to walk out the doors and celebrate his birthday, I don't know if I'd call that a full-on "arrest", but I dig it nonetheless.

Every article on this should talk about Reality Winner for context.

gods I want him to flee to Russia and never come back.

The man with a private jet and 40 year old ties to Russian money laundering is not a flight risk. f*ck this place.

The Kremlin really will be the summer White House.

I really don't think he is a flight risk, as when all is said and done, he truly believes that he is in the right. And will therefore, win in court.

His power wanes drastically if he absconds to Russia. Snowden and Assange are both pale, impotent shadows of the figures they once were. Trump is right to assume he too would be hastening his journey to the dustbin of history if he followed their examples.

I think that is entirely the point. The Feds are basically showing him the door and giving him the choice of likely incarceration or exile.

His ego will never allow him to leave. He is too addicted to the adoration of the crowds, the sycophantic fawning by underlings. He is a slave to his own narcissism really.

He's also a f*cking coward.

He also could very well become president again.

First of all I'm assuming sarcasm but in case you are serious.. There is a massive difference between trying to feed into these idiots self made conspiracy theories to dissuade them from voting and what current GOP state leaders are trying to do to disenfranchise and gerrymander democratic voters from being able to physically vote and/or minimizing the impact of their vote.

The statement feels a ton like current Centrist thinking which tries to equate Republicans and Democrats as "both sides!"

I certainly wasn't trying equate them. And I realize that my wishes are nearly impossible, anyway.
Might as well stoke the crazies.

It looks like Trump's current lead attorney Kise tried to tell him to make a deal with Justice to actually return the documents to avoid charges, but Trump shot down the idea opting instead to take legal advice from non-lawyer and Judicial Watch chode Tom Fitton.

Now he is going to go to federal prison.

Pro tip: Don't rely on legal advice from non-lawyers. Particularly when federal charges are on the table.

This would be the next grift, pay $100 in trump bucks to visit him in prison and hear how he is just working the plan, donate today! phone lines are waiting for your donation!

By all qualified accounts, the case looks pretty rock solid, but the pronouncements that he faces "up to 400 years" is unlikely. My own unqualified guess is that he will likely receive a sentence of 5-8 years contingent on his return of all documents.

I have to imagine any jail time beyond a few months would essentially be a death sentence given Trump’s age and health. But I’m betting the current strategy of running out the clock and winning the election may very well be effective.

Prediction: No matter what the evidence or verdict, Trump will never receive anything more than house arrest in one of his bougie homes.

That's my expectation as well, and it pisses me off.

I think this is the second of the two most likely outcomes, the first is that he wins the election and his DOJ dismisses everything to refocus on whichever Democrat was the most recent person to get on Trump’s nerves.

No surprise at all, it looks like Aileen Cannon is refusing to recuse herself.

The most wacked-out sequel to Demolition Man ever.

For context, Reality Winner got 5 years and 4 months for sharing ONE document with a reporter.
