I'm sure that Jerry Dipoto will cite this as another reason why missing the playoffs was a good thing.

His players might agree this time.

This feels like an SBNation video waiting to happen.

Ha!

Can anyone tell me why the game times for Saturday are still not set (as per ESPN) except for the early game (TEX @ BAL)? Why wouldn't they already know?

Dbacks beating the BRAKES off'em

If I didn’t have this need to be polite, I’d be running around here in SoCal rubbing this in peoples faces.

That was a great game right up until it wasn't.

What a way to end it though.

OOTP update:

2025 World Series against the Mets, Game 6, I'm managing the Mariners in their first-ever World Series appearance.

I'd recently resigned Cal Raleigh to a new deal, just because he was so beloved in Seattle, even though I'd managed to acquire a young catcher who was way better, defensively.

I ended up trading that catcher for Kevin Gausman, who won the ALCS for us with a masterful 2-hit, 11K complete game in Game 7 against the Yankees.

Anyway, it's Game 6, and we've battled back from an early 3-0 deficit to tie the score at 3-3, but now we're in the 13th inning, and, well...

...Cal Raleigh does what the Big Dumper does.

Love this game.

Closest us M's fans will get to on-field ultimate success.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers.... they know this isn't a 7-game series, right?

Baseball is dumb. Poor Orioles

This is going to be an Uno reverse all-timer, at this rate.

aged like fine wine mixed with ground up cork

Now let's try this: the Astros will crush the Twins and breeze through to win the WA without any cheating at all.

I just want to see Bochy versus Baker in the ALCS.

I stopped taking baseball playoffs too seriously when the best regular-season team I ever saw, the 2001 Mariners, didn't get out of the first round.

Spoiler:

And I am also old enough to remember about the same thing happening in all three of the other major US team sports.

Just last season in the NHL

Yes but that was good and righteous.

Pretty decent way to come back by Harper today.

EDIT: Why is the Spanish call better in almost every single sport?

Better not f*ck this up Atlanta, or else all the teams that had good regular seasons are out.

No, no, please do f*ck this up.

Yes, please, do exactly that.
kthxbye

Also, as an American soccer convert, it is absolutely f*cking hilarious that we have a sport where you, game by game, grind out 100 wins for six months and can have your work undone by losing three games in a row.

It's extra funny when it's not your team doing it, of course.

Dare I ask what the broadcasters are talking about before Castellanos keeps homering?

Whatever it is, keep on talking.

New Big Dick Nick in Philly, it appears.

EDIT: 4 HRs in two games?!?!?

Bravos were mashing the hell out of the ball all season. Now, they've scored 8 runs through 34 innings. Take away the one win, and it's 3 runs through 25 innings.

Cold world.

Saint Nick has delivered.

Amen. Man, that was scary with the bases jammed. Rojas just looked weird catching that ball - I thought he tripped or something.

Cya later, Braves. You were a STUD team this year, but I'm so glad to see you gone. Go Philthies!
