Orioles magic number is two
And now they can win it for Brooks Robinson
RIP Legend.
Gabe Kapler's the only Giants manager in the last 25 years still in the game that doesn't have a shot at the postseason.
The Athletics forgot the whole, "You win 60, you lose 60, it's what you do with the rest that matters."
I still might need your Jays to steal one or two from the Rays. I hope it doesn’t come down to that but you can never be too far ahead.
They took 2/3 in the last series so they are doing their part.
Judge has been very Judgian the past couple of weeks... Imagine a season where he stays healthy
Yup. According to my calculations, Judge was on track to hit 60 if he played a full season.
(Also, that Robbie Ray contract, huh? Woof. He blew out his arm in my OOTP game too.)
It's amazing that the Blue Jays offered him and Gausman the same contract but told them that the first one to accept gets it and the other offer will be rescinded. Ray asked for a day to think about it while Gausman signed. Blue Jays dodged a mortar shell.
Orioles clinch the bye
Gabe Kapler out as Giants manager. Yeah, totally nothing awkward about doing this before the season ended and on the night when one of the top team award for the season is handed out.
It's very possible for the AL west to end in a 3-way tie between Seattle, Texas and Houston.
But... Seattle holds the winning record against Houston, Houston holds it over Texas and Texas over Seattle.
This only happens if Seattle sweeps Texas and Houston loses one to Arizona. And if this happens, placement is determined by combined records against the other two teams.
Now if Seattle sweeps and Houston loses its last two games, Texas wins the division, Seattle takes a wildcard spot, and Houston only gets other wildcard spot if they have a better record than Toronto.
But if Houston only loses one, Seattle takes the division, Houston gets a wildcard, and Texas only beats out Toronto for the other wildcard if they tie.
Tldr: if Seattle sweeps Texas, it is better off if Houston only loses one rather than two games.
Baseball is weird.
Mariners lose so Blue Jays clinch. Facing either the Rays or Twins. Just happy this team managed to stumble there way into the playoffs. Hopefully the pitching and defence can hold it together instead of suddenly collapsing at the worst possible time.
Now rooting for whomever Houston is playing
RIP Tim Wakefield
Hahahhahahahhaaahaaaa choke gag splurt
Rays never gonna wear those "Devil Rays" throwbacks again. Errors galore yesterday.
Congrats to Texas, but I'm just going to stand up and say calling something a "sweep" should require you to win at least three games.
Winning two out of three is not a sweep, you just won.
Just because you said that, all the series had to end in sweeps.
No Thursday baseball. Boo
