NFL 2022: The Week 15 thread

what was that

A clear as day out of bounds "touchdown" that wasn't overturned. I want them to lose on out so we can get rid of Patricia and Keep drafting QBs but that call was just strange at the least.

Anyways I tried to copy the path but it wasn't working for me.

Was Mac Jones trying to draw a charge?

Doesn't look like he got the call. Guess his feet were moving!

Try this link, if Twitter's working at all.

What kind of world do we live in where "The Immaculate Interception" doesn't stick but "Bizaro Stanford Play" does?

That was based off a dumb rule in a game that had implications! This was a mostly meaningless game besides the Vegas betting line.

What's incredible to me is that the best picture the NFL can get to review a TD play is this. How are there no proper images of the limits of the end zone?

Because this wasn't a national broadcast and thus didn't have the maximum number of cameras on the field. It would have been had NBC not flexed over to Giants versus Commies.

Greg Gumbel kept referring to Mitch Trubisky as Sam Darnold for a whole drive. I'm gonna say it was on purpose. Maybe he lost a bet or something.

There was brutal refereeing at the end of the Giants and WFT game.

Yeah it's annoying that there aren't pylon cameras every game. NFL making billions, surely they can have an equal playing field.

It’s Minshew Mania time! Worked in 2017 let’s see if it works again!

I hate the flag on McLaurin. Even if he didn't quite step forward far enough, he was a non-participant on the play. That's a keep-it-in-your-pocket play.

Just saw a replay of that. Terrible.

During the broadcast it was pretty clear he stepped out of bounds. From the top down you could see his foot at least an inch into the line. Then they had a low camera angle that showed that he came down toe first which should have eliminated the "How can you tell what part of his foot landed first?" question. I was under the impression they could view the same camera angles but maybe not.

The team is going nowhere, and this is a mostly meaningless game, so I don't really care. If more losses means Patricia gets the boot then that's what I'm rooting for. I don't need winning football, the offense just needs to be more interesting than watching paint dry.

Meh…if the call on the field was a TD and they couldn’t get a clear view that it wasn’t then technically it shouldn’t get overturned. I’ve seen worse not get overturned

They were talking about this extensively on a show on satellite today. Need big evidence to overturn.

On the NYG-WAS game, that ref threw the flag as soon as the ball was snapped on the WR. That's some chicken shit reffing after he (the WR) specifically pointed to alert he was on notice.

Rams have tied the 1999 Broncos for the most losses by a defending Super Bowl champion (10).

This is one record I'll be cheering the Rams on to get the lead alone

It will forever piss me off that the Rams rent-a-team tactic just barely worked.

If Jaquiski Tartt doesn't drop that free INT, the Rams would have mortgaged their future for nothing. They'd be the Broncos.

Patriots fans should take comfort that they found out JUST HOW f*ckING STUPID members of their team are now rather than in a playoff scenario. Seriously, once again the refs and the Raiders did them all a huge favor helping to see their future.

I get that Jakobi wasn't expecting the lateral, but if he doesn't run backwards 10 yards first and instead looks for a more immediate lateral throwback... Hunter Henry is right there.

Brady has 4 TOs and Emperor Palpatine oversees the worst final play in NFL history?

I am enjoying this denouement of New England football history immensely.

The Ravens get WR help by signing Michael Thomas! Shit. It's Mike Thomas.

Fans: We need a real WR like Michael Thomas
EDC: We have Michael Thomas at home.

Mike Thomas from home.

He was fine when he left I'm pretty sure. They had to activate Romeo Doubs.

That said no idea what has happened in 24-48hrs.

Edit: well the Ravens actually did.

The Ravens claimed wide receiver Sammy Watkins off waivers on Tuesday, according to a team source, confirming multiple reports. Baltimore is bringing back Watkins with the hope he will improve the NFL's sixth-worst passing attack and help an offense that hasn't scored a touchdown in its past seven quarters

I think the last time he went more than 12 weeks in a season was when he was with Buffalo.

That would make sense if they didn't overturn the Hunter Henry one a few weeks before. The guy had his hand under the ball so there was no way to tell if it actually touched the ground to cause the slight movement. In this recent call the top view showed his foot out of bounds. Even the broadcasters were surprised with the call. The refs have been terrible this year for many team's games.

Trust me, it didn't take that play for most of us to realize how stupid they are . We figured that out when Bill sympathy hired two failed head coaches to run the offence with no experience at it. I can't fault a undrafted player, whom happens to be their best receiver, on brain farting when the back laterals him the ball when the game is tied. I really think, at that moment, he second guessed his memory.
