Blob is pretty fun, RIP to anyone who likes to play Darkhawk.
I replaced Chavez with him in my Apocalypse deck, and the first person I came up against tried to get cute with Wave when I had Modok and Poc in hand. That was pretty fun.
Is this the meta Crystal has been waiting for?
Blob does look like fun. But any time I get one of the meta cards I play it a few times then go back to my old bankers of my Patriot and Knull decks which are more reliable.
I'm getting the old Galactus deck to work. When I saw all the ramp cards being played I realized I could probably do some Galactus ramps and people won't expect it.
Just had Blob cause a full blown hard crash to desktop. Luckily, I got back in time to clear the Win 3 Lanes mission.
Just had Blob cause a full blown hard crash to desktop.
I’ve had that happen three times while his ability activates out of about two dozen matches.
Thank God for this meta. I'm not wanting to play near as much. If I ever see another Blob it'll be too soon.
Greetings, Card-Slingers & True Believers Alike!
I've been getting back into Marvel Snap lately, riding the rollercoaster of card changes/updates that I've missed over the last year away from the game (imagine my surprise when I boot up an old deck before checking and finding a 1-cost America Chavez in my hand first turn).
It seems I've returned just in time, because yesterday's announcement of the new upcoming Spider-Season brought with it an announcement of a new-to-Snap card mechanic: Activated Abilities! New upcoming cards (as well as some old cards, supposedly Hell Cow will be getting this modification) will have abilities that activate on your turn of choice rather than automatically On Reveal. I'm curious to see how the ability order-of-operations will play out. Can you activate an ability between card reveals, or will they take priority over card flips? Mysteries to be solved!
Of the new cards announced, I've got some interest in Araña, a 1/1 with the Activated ability of "The next card you play gets +2 Power and moves to the right", which sounds like an excellent fit for my Death/pool deck.
Excelsior, baybee~
I’ve actually been playing pretty consistently but starting to get a bit annoyed with some trends in how they balance, or fail to balance, certain cards and deck archetypes. Seems like whenever they release a new card rather than adjusting the new card they tend to nerf all the cards that enable it but leave the problem card untouched, which can damage any other decks that depend upon those other cards.
This last update in particular was extremely troubling, Bounce used to be a powerful deck archetype but has sort of been underperforming for several seasons now, despite this they just nerfed one of the central cards for Bounce because of a card being released sometime later next season, basically making the entire deck unplayable until that card comes out. Meanwhile, Ultron Zoo decks can put out 20+ power across all lanes with only three cards and every second match is against Arishem which is extremely tedious to play against if you run anything other than Cassandra or Darkhawk shells.
I'm still playing and doing my daily missions and having fun.
Luckily I don't get too attached to specific meta decks so I enjoy making changes with card adjustments.
The nerfing of trash filled bounce becks has been a relief, the closest I've come to quitting is when I've hit a rich seam of those.
I’ve mostly been playing a hybrid ramp for the last few seasons but it’s falling behind the power creep even with some of the new cards and I’m tired of the Arishem meta right now.
I mostly switch between Knull, High Evolutionary and Discard decks.
I pick up a newer card every now and then but while they are powerful they're often just too random and have dependencies that need to go your way.
I’ve got a really good Daken deck that always catches people off guard because no one plays Daken, but it is pretty dependent upon card draw.
General playline is to have Daken in his own lane than Zola him and either Modok your hand or Killmonger his shards on the final turn. He should go from 4 to minimum 64 in two lanes on a halfway decent draw.
On a bad draw or if it feels like your opponent is going to shut off Limbo he can still usually hold his own lane while you stack power in a second.
Well, first of all, the Discord is pretty active on Snap, and if you're in need of an Alliance, "Snappers With Jobs" was organized there. Feel free to enlist.
This is the deck I've been quite enjoying the most, alas it might have stopped being quite so effective:
Ah geez, is this gonna be what finally pulls me into the gravity of the GWJ discord? I'm so flaky with Discord, but then, I do love card games (with or without motorcycles). My current alliance, "Bakedpools", is not exactly the most bounty-oriented bunch, but they do get me the cool tag of [420] in front of my username, for kicks, so I can easily take 'em or leave 'em in favor of this rag-tag bunch of rascals.
Will post my current Death/pool build later today for perusal.
I've still been playing I used Wiccan to get infinite this week.
And I forgot to post my Death/Pool deck, here we are:
I've been using a good ole reliable Surfer deck on ladder, but I've made some revisions to my Black Swan deck since the Beast changes and too many games where I have a hand full of 3 costs. In Conquest, they've been pretty fruitful:
