A turn 6 snap from me usually means I've just remembered I have a "win matches with a snap" mission. I need to get better at snapping.
My irritation is something that was inevitable, but I got She-Hulk quite early, which was a big boon, I profited a lot off people not expecting a card like that amid my basic ass low pool 3 plays. But, she got moved down to pool 3, and just now I got recommended a video from one of the major creators outlining one of my best decks, so now it will be everywhere. But oh well, it was good while it lasted.
Got my "once every 40 or so" Pool 4 card, and it was... M'Baku, so, uh, yaaaaaaay...
…and if they don’t snap and don’t retreat until turn 6 they get punished by losing… 2 cubes.
If it was more punitive I would understand, but the functional difference between retreating early vs retreating late is negligible, and I’ve turned bad locations and bad draws around enough times that I know it’s worth waiting.
It’s 1 more cube and time spent in a game with an awful hand.
Sorry you don’t like people trying to optimize their ranked grind, but that’s the game.
And in that last part, it’s worth waiting to you. It’s not always worth waiting to someone else.
If their deck is good at grabbing 4 or 8 cube wins with good late turn plays, but their opening hand means they can’t set any of those up it’s easily worth just moving on to the next game early.

there has to BE a late turn for them to have good late term plays.
I edited in a more important clarification. Do what you want with it.
You seem pretty dead set on the “they’re playing the game wrong” thing so, probably best we agree to disagree and move on.
I’m just saying that I find it extremely annoying and I was blowing off steam.
I seem to have drifted into a dead zone in the matchmaking where progress has slowed to a crawl because I’m only able to gain 1-2 cubes from the vast majority of matches and it takes hours to finish the missions that I used to be able to finish in ten minutes. I was really enjoying this game but I’m not really having fun anymore because of it and don’t know how much longer I can keep playing.
I hit infinite today using a Patriot deck. I think levels 50-80 were more difficult than 80-100. I went from 90 to infinite in maybe 10 hands. There was a lot of snapping and playing poorly. I assume I was running into a lot of people that already had infinite. Second Dinner did say last month that they wanted it to be easier to get to infinite. Maybe that?
Are there any usable combos folks are using for Viper besides The Hood or tossing a rock or Shadowlands ninja across the board? Right now she fits into my Goblin deck that focuses on filling the opponent's board w/ trash and countering everything else, but I'm wondering if there's something tasty I could be missing.
Otherwise, I've been flourishing w/ my Death/Deadpool/Destroy deck lately. I lucked out and pulled Shuri, so I slotted her in to replace Hulk Buster, and she works great. If I can get my death ball rolling, Turn 6 can see me dropping Shuri followed by Death or Deadpool, securing all but the most beefed of lanes. Is it easily countered? Perhaps. Is it a fun time? Absolutely~
I like to Viper Electro.
I like to Viper Electro.
Oh, that sounds absolutely delicious! My only qualm is the turn economy - Electro costs 3, the earliest you could send him over would be Turn 4, and and per his effect, Viper would be the only card you could play Turn 4. But if played in sequence on Turn 5, it could lock up some big Turn 6 plays...
I must retire to my big chair and contemplate the possibilities...

Congrats! I haven’t heard of any changes. 90-100 is a big grind for most people so that’s awesome that you breezed through. I suppose you could have had some luck in hitting folks that were Infinite and didn’t care about their cubes? Either way, well done.
You can Viper Armor to create space but keep the protection. I do think Viper needs more targets. Her ability is cool, but Green Goblin makes her see very little use.

Thanks. I can now play the game. LOL Not worrying about cube loss is such a relief. It means I can try out strategies without worrying, which I find more fun. I really think they should add a bot only mode that doesn't effect cubes.
Hear me out. Play Doc Oc into an empty lane then nope him out with Doc Strange. Right?

For a move deck, that sounds like it would beat the heck outta Heimdall as a game-ending move deck bait-n-switch any day. I've seen someone use Heimdall effectively maybe once.

Heimdall worked very well for me in my early decks but I think it telegraphs way too much that you can win the right lane with little effort when you think he is coming.

In my (admittedly mid-ish ranking) experience, it feels like my opponents don't fully consider whether Heimdall's leftward shift would actually get them the points on the board they need to win their zones or not. They just think "oh this will buff all my guys" and fire off the bifrost. That plus the easy right-zone clutch keep Heimdall low on my list.
Now, mind you, I've no leg to stand on - I've thrown down Hobgoblin on a zone I myself had already Cosmo'd on multiple occasions, so feel free to take my wisdom w/ a grain of salt.
Hemidal is very predictable, but I would always have him in a move deck because sometimes the bots don't pay attention.

It's also now occuring to me that Doc Ock + Heimdall is probably also a valid synergy. Toss Doc Ock in the Right zone on Turn 5, then Heimdall wherever you can on 6.

Or Turn 4 ends with Iron Fist, turn 5 Doc Oc and free turn 6.

Viper usually is tossing a fake Mysterio over for me.
I don't have him but I think they were to heavy handed on the leader. He seems pretty useless now.
I hated facing leader, but now I never see him. I think they may have went a little overboard too. Maybe make him a 5 cost card or give him more base power?

Leader is fine, he just requires situational use and setting up for his ability to work.
I gave him a bunch of hours the week of the nerf. I won all but 1 game I put him on the board. But you can’t just be ahead in two lanes and slap him down every single game anymore.
Which is only a good thing. The card is fine. People just don’t want to think.
Is there any sweeter feeling than sneaking a Green Goblin onto your opponent's Space Throne? (Besides Cosmo'ing a Wong or Lockjaw)

Playing Nightcrawler there turn 3 every game so all the people playing Goblin or Polaris got stuck and I can move the card out of the lane when I'm ready for an easy lane win felt pretty great
So many instantaneous retreats

Scarlet Witch-ing a location and turning it into Space Throne the same turn your opponent plays Green Goblin, trapping it on their side.
Playing Enchantress on Rickety Bridge where Armor is protecting 3 of their other cards.

Pretty much added Enchantress to all my decks now as a counter to so many things. Oh be a real shame if your Invisible Woman lost her ability before you get to play Modok for a Hela turn 6 play.

Gee, uh, that's a pretty nice Patriot zoo deck ya got there...
Sure would be a shame if something were to happen to it... *twirls card in fingers*
