Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Yeah there was a combat shrine that only gives you a stick. But then it had these little combat robots. And you could attach spikes to them. Or flame, laser, frost emitters. And the robots hunt enemies, with those weapons active.

So I realized I've been doing combat wrong...

Yeah.. I'm probably 50+ hours into this and I finally saw those in a combat shrine. Have yet to see a gumball machine drop them though and I have quite a few (I think) of those sites available. Maybe I'l go back to them to see if they have them now.

Homing Cart. I just checked and see 3 dispensers on my map with them.

One in North Hyrule Sky and 2 in Akkala Sky

I have 52 in inventory because I never used one until that shrine. But I'm going to have some fun tonight

Oh, this looks fun. That looks like another good one to add to the autobuild favorites.

Yeah, the homing carts are a blast to use in combat. My go-to has been one with a shock emitter on the front and a construct head with a frost emitter on top. I stopped using the flame emitter and cannon as much because it seems like my framerate tanks much harder when there's a bunch of fire on screen.

I built a vehicle that can safely transport one or more while I explore so I can send them after enemies I encounter on the way. It's not the fastest mode of exploration, but it sure is fun.

I am a bit put off by the save system.

Last night on Eventide island I made a glider with fans, and bombs on a sled to try to dive bomb a monster. I was careful so I made a manual save so that if it all fell apart I could reload.
Instead after dying the game reloaded me on the tower with all the monsters I had killed back and the machine not built. Even the screenshot of the save shows the glider with the bombs on it but when it loads up it is gone.

I find that annoying. I can see a bit of worry about save scumming but at least monsters shouldn't be there. It is very frustrating.

I think that might be less about preventing save scumming and more about the immense technical costs involved in trying to have a save system that captures the exact positions of every object in the world in a game with this much going on in that realm.

Yeah I've had that with a couple of experiments. Will this thing fly, float, etc? I better save and try. When it worked great but when it didn't and i loaded the thing was gone.

Good thing I duped some Zonaite items and have 30+ of every part

I wouldn't mind one or the other - either the construct is still there or the enemies stay dead. It is just both being gone

Two carts, two flamethrowers, three batteries, two hot air balloons and a significant number of Zonai charges were necessary

I also completed the geoglyphs quest, apparently, despite the fact that I haven't unlocked all the memories yet.

Only two temples and 65 shrines done so far. Small steps...

Yep! The construct head is a sensor that locks onto nearby enemies and triggers attached devices — in this case, the beams. The homing cart is a small tracked chassis that drives towards nearby enemies. Put them together and add weapons, and you get a small mobile gun platform.

Haha, no, although that one sounds hilarious! This one was the

Separately, I did encounter

There's some sneaky yiga clan individuals in the Depths too. First one tricked me but a couple others I knew as soon as I talked to them

Honestly, there's like a 70% chance that just about any human interaction you're having in the game will end up being a Yiga scheme or ambush.

I'm not sure if this has already been shared, but attaching a Sapphire, Topaz, or Ruby to your shield will proc the element on enemies when you block. Sapphire Shields in particular seem very powerful.

I waited a bit to share my glee at this, but I figure there’s enough out there now.

Dragon spikes. They’re fantastic arrow attachments. Like, it’s just unfair, almost. The dragons provide easy access to ammo you basically just pick up, but you need to have unlocked all the SkyTowers so you can glide and paraglide to them whenever you spot them from the ground (yes, you can also just fly up to them).

I haven't been dragon hunting yet, though I need to. I did pass one when I was headed down a chasm though. It only gave me the one piece; any more arrows I shot just bounced off with no effect. Can you get more scales and such if you intercept them in the sky or is it still a one-thing-per-visit deal?

I think you only get one scale from hitting them per encounter, but if you float above them to the spines on their back, there will be elemental fragments clustered around some of the spikes that you can just pick up. It seems like there are usually somewhere in the 10-12 range up for grabs for a first-time dragon encounter.

I haven't tried using them as arrow tips, but they're great fodder for elemental weapons.

I did this once by accident mostly. I saw one below me and wondered if I could land on it. Netted many scales and I assumed that was what we were supposed to do.

You can ride them around and eventually they regenerate their scales and fragments. I think you can get two or three per loop they do around the landscape. You will know you can get another scale when they start glowing.

Alright, guess it's finally time to ride the dragon, eh?

Yeah I rode down into the depths a couple times and grabbed some spikes. But only one shot for scales

Yeah, I have collected lots of those. Haven't had a chance to use them yet!!!

I caught a giant white horse today. Just following rumors and talking to NPCs. Pretty fun.

I'm trying to get back to a temple but I wanted to upgrade my armor and unlocking the 3rd fairy has taken me a bit out of the way to stables. Haha.

Yup, accurate.

And, done.

Holy f*cking shit, that’s how you end a f*cking video game. Just absolutely spectacular, and does full justice to the unparalleled achievement that this game is in every way.

I just cannot believe how they managed to so thoroughly eclipse and improve upon what was already one of the most amazing games ever made.

“Oh, you enjoyed Breath of the Wild? Cool, cool, cool, glad to hear it. But if it’s not too much bother, would you mind holding this beverage?”

The water temple boss was so bad. So frustrating and stupid. I hated it.

2nd phase? Yeah annoying. Was never in danger of dying but it was just so hard to get hits in, and even move sometimes.

Yeah, second phase. Incredibly irritating.
