I honestly want nothing more than for a modern NFL team to go full "WoodStrock" QB platoon.

Maynold?

No. Darnfield. Definitely Darnfield.

Screw Darnfield...

PFT: Pete Carroll doesn’t rule out using both of his quarterbacks, Geno Smith and Drew Lock

LOCKSMITH!!

My new finisher in WWE 2K23 will be the Genolock!

Checking back in on my "interesting bubble guys" post ... edge rusher (maybe?) Arron Mosby (...) FRESNO STATE

Yeah, he's probably not going to make the active roster because the Panthers have a ton of LBs (which is where he is on the depth chart) :

* Shaq Thompson is the defensive captain
* Frankie Luvu (last year's breakout player) will play kind of a Haason Reddick hybrid LB/pass rusher role
* Panthers signed vets Cory Littleton (Rams/Raiders) and Damien Wilson (Jax and other teams) in the off season; Wilson is listed as starting MLB
* They really seem to like Brandon Smith, whom they drafted out of Penn State

Assuming the Panthers keep six LBs, you've got Mosby and three others guys fighting for that spot. Julian Stanford probably has the edge bc he's good on ST.

The Panthers also have a ton of edge rushers (Brian Burns and friends).

Maybe practice squad? Tbh, I haven't seen Mosby's name mentioned outside of this forum. He seems to be Just A Guy in Carolina.

Don't have to Get Ready if you Stay Ready.

Solid gag, RGIII.

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGH.

I was so ready to be all excited and happy for Punt God. And then....

Well, it was only one. By the Watson standard, he may have to set out a series or two.

I mean, it always is, and every year, everyone yelling about it ponies up the $60 for it.

A chunk of the complaints are essentially a self-replicating ecosystem at this point, but if the game is sh*t and has been sh*t for as long as gamers say it's been sh*t, stop f*cking buying it. I guarantee EA will take your complaints seriously if they see a historic drop in sales.

Well, the Pats' offense looked almost as bad as the 49ers tonight. They did have two TDs negated by penalties but overall not great blocking to start with and general sloppiness including a couple of bad INTs. Bailey Zappe threw an INT to former Patriots WR Isaiah Zuber, who was playing safety for a series. To make things worse, Ty Montgomery suffered an apparently serious injury.

Baker Mayfield is officially the starting QB of the Carolina Panthers.

We're now one injury away from Walker being the last man standing. Would you be interested in our 3rd string QB for a 5th round pick, who we'll end up needing later in the year?

I was going to respond to last week's post on why I agreed with Rhule sitting Darnfield the second half of the game. Mayfield doesn't need preseason snaps to master the offense so much as he just needs more time, and losing players to injury in the preseason sucks.

PS - Josh Dobbs is basically the only Brown I've been rooting for this preseason.

the joint fights seem chippier this year.

Don’t worry, he is sitting out the last preseason game and wants to 'set record straight' about gang rape lawsuit.

The Jaguars kicker churn continues, as they claim another one off of waivers, Jake Verity (cut by Indianapolis). Though the previously waiver-claimed kicker James McCourt is still there, so presumably the two will battle over the weekend, because the 53-man cutdown is Tuesday.

Drew Lock was such a disaster in preseason game 3 (3 INTs) that the Seahawks immediately turned around and announced Geno Smith as the week 1 starter.

Now, the question is, how long do the Niners squat on Jimmy to delay his signing by Seattle? They might cut him in the 53-man cutdown Tuesday, but since they have until September 10th to get him off the roster before guaranteeing his salary, they could delay it an extra 11 days.

Keeping him on the roster until the 10th means having only 52 roster slots for guys you want, though, meaning exposing someone they want on their roster to waivers.

Speaking of kickers, Panthers kicker Zane Gonzalez has suffered a "significant" injury, and the Panthers are gonna have to go kicker shopping.

SIGN FAT BOY!

Legion, who is this Perry guy the Jags have in at QB. He's... not good.

E.J. Perry, a rookie UDFA from the football powerhouse school known as Brown.

He'll be on the practice squad. BEAT HARD will be the QB2 behind Lawrence.

Punt God released

Finally the Browns will have a solution to their summer-long punter battle.

But that stupid streak is still alive, so there’s that.

It's not like the Ravens were trying to keep it going. They sat all their starters and played 10 and 11 personnel practically all night. For a team that lives and dies by the run, this was a giant middle finger and "come and get us" at the Washington pass rush. I don't think they even threw to TEs all night opting instead to mostly throw at undrafted wide receivers.

The fact that the Snyders of Landover couldn't manage to find the endzone if you grafted it to their scrotums isn't our fault.

Too amateurish for the Browns. I’m sure DW can take him under his wing and show him how it’s done.

Yikes, local news here in DC just reported that Brian Robinson was shot multiple times in a robbery.

Just coming to post. Supposedly not life threatening but damn

Are the Seahawks interested in a QB upgrade or is this a tank year?

Jimmy G will be in Seattle the second he gets cut.

The blending of the threads here...

Black Tuesday has started early. Lots of teams are starting to cut players to get down to 53 (from 80) by 4 p.m. tomorrow.

CBS Sports and NFL.com are keeping a running list of all preseason cuts.

The PFF list appears to be only (mostly?) the current round of cuts (ie from 80 to 53).

That linebacker that Baltimore cut. That's an unfortunate name. The networks probably make them cut him to avoid an inadvertent Brenneman moment.
