00:31:32 Media that Keeps You Going

Some media that keeps me going:

- The GWJ Conference Call, and that's been the case for a solid decade or so. You folks are one of the most familiar, comforting and consistent pieces of media in my life, and the transition from the Shawn/Sean era to the Amanda/Rich/Glendan era changed that precisely zero, which is both amazing and was a hugely wonderful thing.

- Just last week I discovered Canadian power metal band Unleash the Archers, and everything about that has been glorious, from watching highly-knowledgeable reaction streamers try to scrape their jaws off the floor at the raw skill of the musicians to the amazing fantasy/sci-fi story told across the dual concept albums of Apex and Abyss. And the fact that the band members are, by all accounts, genuinely nice and decent human beings also helps a lot.

- The Old Gods of Appalachia podcast. I'm not usually much for horror, but OGoA is a universe where the horrors can be fought and beaten, and it humanizes characters that it doesn't need to. The setting is fairly brutal, but the authors' worldview is kinder than a lot of horror, and it's also just really good. I checked it out while Monte Cook Games was running the kickstarter for the RPG based on it (which I didn't wind up backing, but will be picking up at release).

- The latest season of Stranger Things and specifically enthusiastically discussing it with a bunch of good friends afterward.

- The Pandas Talking Games TTRPG podcast is also just lovely. Solid TTRPG advice from some really warm, sweet people who clearly think the world of each other but also have very different gaming styles.

Timespike! Thank you so much. Moments ago just read a mean comment on the internet and was having a real "is everything we've done for gwj a mistake?" moment, and your post really settled me down. Thank you for your kindness and patronage. We appreciate you and all of our listeners and commenters immensely!

Aww, thanks!

And I'm certain I'm not the only one that appreciates you and the conference call!

What @Timespike said about the CC - seconded!

I played Ape Out on the Switch and the twin stick control scheme works great with the game as well but I would definitely suggest using headphones if you're playing in handheld mode because the music definitely deserves better than the console's speakers. I really enjoyed that game!
