Maybe on Time, Maybe Not - Pile of Shame May 2022

So, I'm bad at calendars...

I will be posting June early, because I will be traveling on 6/1 and I plan on having at least on thread be on time.

Ok, enough with the excuses, on to the games!

Some housekeeping notes.

If you're interested, trueheart78, has the 12 month 2022 pile plan thread over here.

A quick reminder, in order to be considered "Pile of Shame" the game needs to be at least three months old. Otherwise, it's just a new game you haven't gotten to playing yet.

Also, if you are curious about some of the previous threads, Picks of the Pile, etc... Please go here and check out the spreadsheet I setup.

Lol I just remembered it’s a new month.

Crusader Kings 3
Crusader Kings 3: Northern Lords
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn

I'm still working on Prey (multi). I think I'm about halfway through but I've got more time to play now.

Not sure what I'll play after. A lot of the games on my current list are better controller games so I'm saving them for when I get a Steam Deck which probably won't be until early June. Going to have to dig around for a longer game to hold me over until then.

Let's see what May flowers I might pluck this month...

Carrying over Psychonauts 2 (multi), which I am sure will be completed in short order.

The Messenger (multi)
Inscryption (multi)

I'll be sticking to those three, for the time being.

Only one game for me at this time, carried from last month: The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (multi). I really don't know what to think about that one. It's weird.

Still making glacial progress on anything that isn't Elden Ring. But maybe this is the month I finish The Darkside Detective (multi)?

Control (PC/multi) - just need that final 2-3 night push.
Samorost 3 (PC/multi) - should be a nice afternoon.
3 Out of 10 - season 2 (PC/multi) - 2 out of 5 episodes done already in one evening.
Comix Zone (Genesis) - Tried it out a few weeks ago. Seems fun and interesting.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Genesis) - Believe it or not, but I've never played this before.

Also going to work on:
Dragon's Crown Pro
Silent Hill 2 (yeah right)

Thanks Hemi!

So I finished Elden Ring on May 2. I know, not eligible until the 25th. But hey it's a game that's not making it to the pile. That's something I guess.

Still picking at Children of Morta every few days. Think I'm near the last dungeon. Maybe...

Started Curse of the Dead Gods (PS4, multi) today. New to me from PS+ but it's been out about a year.

Just starting with Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony (Steam/Multi) this time..

Carrying over The Darkside Detective : A Fumble in the Dark, VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action, and adding Life Is Strange: True Colors which are all (Multi).[/quote]

Finished up the last episode of 3 out of 10 - season 2.
Honestly, it's more of the same as season 1, except some of the scenes have become more ridiculous, our cast travels to a few more exotic locations, and all episodes are bundled in a single install this time around. It was always fun to see what genre would be the episode's optional minigame. These can be made as difficult as the player wants or skipped entirely, and it works for this game...sitcom mashup. I do love Joan as a character, and season 2 really sees her coming into her own.
It was a bit of a downer that the final episode of the season barely moved the overarching story along at all, but if season 3 comes out, I'll probably check it out. Especially if it's free on Epic again.

I finished Life Is Strange: True Colors this evening and it was really good!!!

The Messenger has been beaten. Loved it. Looking forward to Sea of Stars, since it's from the same devs and I did kickstart it... just a few more months to wait, allegedly.

I'm 1 down, 2 to go, and Psychonauts 2 looks like it will bite the dust sometime next week.

Maybe I'll manage all games I declared. It's certainly been a while.

So howlongtobeat says the main game of Control + extras should take about 18.5 hours, and completionism (which I don't think I'm going for) around 27.5.

I'm at 27.5 now, and should still have 2-3 hours to go.

But it's just such a JOY to explore the oldest house! I always try to find evenings where I will have several hours of uninterrupted time to immerse myself, and I always look forward to the next time I see or at least hear from Ahti - love that guy!

Made some progress on Samorost 3 as well. I'm now on a floating log in space.
