What are everyone's starting words? I tend to go TASER, and if that fails POINT.
ADIEU, and if that yields no letters, then STORY. I play on Hard Mode.
BTW, every game is paywalled. For example, you can play a couple words on Spelling Bee, then the paywall hits.
I always start with Baron.

Looking at the source code is not a good idea, because all of the answers are listed in a JavaScript array in plain text.

For those who can't get enough, there is also Dordle which offers both a daily puzzle and free puzzles as frequently as you want.
Essentially, you are attempting to simultaneously solve two separate grids at once (with a single guess).

I keep using less obvious guess when I get to three letters or so and then it always ends up being the more obvious one (see earlier this week when I guessed hoist instead of moist).
Everybody's so doom and gloom about the NYT acquisition but, as somebody that does the crossword everyday and occasionally half-asses the Spelling Bee, I look forward to having all my daily word stuff in one place again.
I lost for the first time today.

Getting the first letter didn't actually make it easier. After my 3rd guess I'm not sure there are any other valid answers based upon the other letters I knew couldn't be in it. Still took a while to get to.
