Wordle 219 4/6
Testing this without the nice grid part. Keep getting an error.
Got my family group chat hooked on this to the annoyance of the non-gamers.
I think you have to upload it somewhere for it to work here.
I've been doing it off and on. Very enjoyable!
What are everyone's starting words? I tend to go TASER, and if that fails POINT.
Which "Wordle" is in on the Android play store/ There is on by FatCat studios and one by Tech Tree Games
Neither.
It's a web browser game.
LOL which is why I could never find it
What are everyone's starting words?
I like to use a different starting word each day. Anything with 2-3 vowels and reasonably common consonants can get it done.

Had to get the fiancé involved as this one had me stumped for a while.
Is it the same wordle for everyone each day (I.e., is my 219 the same as everyone else’s 219) or do you start from the beginning and work your way forward each day?

Either POINT or HEART are my first guess. ADIEU is a pretty good vowel guesser.
Over the weekend I learnt that double letters are OK, which rocked my Wordle, and today I learnt that there are no plurals of four-letter words.
Using a letter more than once also caused a near fail for me.
My sister and I have been going back and forth for a few weeks now. Now the whole family text group is involved.
I tend to change my start word up, thinking that maybe it gives me a better chance at that elusive 1/6.

Yup, everyone is doing the same daily puzzles.
I think that's a huge reason it took off.

I vary it by day based on what I feel like. A few times, I went with PIXEL, but mostly I like to try to knock out a couple vowels in my first word. I heard someone suggest using words with the Wheel of Fortune letters (R S T L N E) and that seems like a pretty good tactic.
I've been sticking with these three (nice and memorable) starting words, and rare is the day when I don't get the word in the 4th:
STEAM
CLOUD
PINKY
Wordle is a type of pokemon. It is a special pokemon that gets more power by feeding it words. It created a website where people can guess words to feed it. I just learned about this a few minutes ago so could have some details wrong.
Is everyone playing on hard mode?
Is hard mode the one where, once you get a letter in place, you can't remove it?
If so, I'm definitely not. I have removed discovered letters to test letters in other words plenty of times.
I can't spell hord made.

I fed my Wordle too much candy and it evolved into a Lewdle (NSFW).
If you are in our Discord server, there's a Wordle thread in the puzzle channel where people are sharing their results every day.

I am notoriously bad at sticking with this kind of thing where you have to check in every day, but this one has its hooks in me pretty good.
Wasn't aware hard mode was a thing. Not sure I totally understand how it works, but I'll give it a go and report back...

Once you know a letter is in the word it has to be in any subsequent guesses. So, you can't do the thing some people do where they have a set of three words that they always guess regardless of the results. I turned it on around the third day because it was how I was playing anyway. I don't get why it's called "hard". I'm pretty sure intentionally wasting guesses actually makes it harder for you.

Gotcha. That's already how I play anyway, so I'll just be leaving it on for the extra street cred

It's not intentionally wasting guesses, it's a way to eliminate (or get) more letters without being bound by the ones you already have.

Some days this game makes me feel like a goddamn genius, other days a complete idiot. Today was a genius day
EDIT: Is the format W for a letter that's in the word but in the wrong place, and B for a letter in the correct place? Assuming so, today went like this:
-W---
WBB--
BBBBB
221 4/6
Today was pure luck. After the first three tries, I had an idea of what the first three letters were, opened my trusty Webster's New Universal Unabridged Dictonary and picked the first word that matched this criteria. Turns out it was the right one!
Yeah, eliminating letters feels crucial unless you are a walking word list with all valid 5 letter combinations at your command. Hard mode seems needlessly masochistic, but I am also a filthy casual so that's my opinion.
Edit: Wordle 221 5/6
