Charlie Watts has passed away at the age of 80.
Not a drums guy as a rule, and not somebody who tends to notice drumming a lot, but Charlie Watts has always been an exception to that. What makes the Rolling Stones great is that groove Keith gets into, and Charlie is what drives that, and he'd show up on stage with a tiny little drum kit with no ridiculous add-ons or showmanship, and just deliver a perfect rhythm every time for Keith Richards to take and run with. Absolutely one of the legendary greats, and just so masterful at playing exactly what needed to be played perfectly, and never anything more.
Looks like it's time for yet another Beggar's Banquet--Let It Bleed--Sticky Fingers--Exile on Main Street listening session.

Whatever we may think about this moment, our practice is just to return to it. This moment is where all beings exist.
