Neurocracy development where it preceded the pandemic sounds an awful lot like how The Illuminatus! Trilogy contains the most far-fetched, wild-eyed conspiracy theories they could come up with and then a bunch of them effectively came true.

Be careful of the fiction you create, folks, as it might manifest in the real world.

And then there's the example of the original Deus Ex.

As an avid visual novel fan, I dove into Doki Doki Literature Club back in the day, and.... immensely disliked it. I've gone on and on about why in the dedicated thread (fire and foremost the dev's flippant attitude in regards to trigger warnings), so I won't wax on about it. I can't say I heard anything that would lead me to believe I'd change my mind.
Maybe I'm the odd duck though. After all, I'm one of those people who would still enjoy VNs if you'd "stripped away everything but the text."

I also enjoyed the discussion on Neurocracy, though my thoughts kinda focused on "ooh, a fellow Frenchie!"

Loved the question about representation. My earliest memory of "feeling seen" in a videogame is that of King's Quest 4 which featured Princess Rosella as the protagonist. I give it a bit of thought, and I can't think of a single game that featured a good portrayal of an autistic character, let alone an autistic woman. The only example I can think of is the Arrival DLC for Mass Effect 2 and that was atrocious.
