Far Cry 6 - Catch all (Can you whistle?)

I really enjoyed FC4. I liked the setting. Also, elephants. The ending was my favourite of the Far Cry series. Blood Dragon never appealed. I don’t think I even got through the tutorial. FC5 felt very janky and weird to me. I didn’t get on with it. Primal I adored. I played the start of the game before realising I was burnt out on the Far Cry formula. After a year or more’s break I returned and the activities all felt fresh and fun again.

I’d have liked them to shake up the formula more for FC6 but I’m pretty sure I’ll have fun regardless.

For whatever reason, FC5 just never grabbed me. I put in about a dozen hours into it, but didn't feel invested in the story and ended up bailing.

FC6 has a totally different vibe. I think it's because the main character isn't some generic, "you fill in the personality", non-speaking person. For whatever reason Dani having a backstory, having something in common with the other characters we meet, back-talking, etc... just makes her a much more interesting character to play. I'm quite enjoying this one so far!

Also, Oluso is just the best little kitty!

For sure. Huge improvement over FC5 in this area.

The week has been stressful, and Far Cry 6 has been a very nice "turn off your brain" game.

I'm not even a dog person, but Boom Boom sitting in the car next to you is just a delight.

I didn’t get on with Far Cry 5 but I did become great pals with Boomer the dog. I kinda wanted to keep playing the game just to run around with him. I was delighted when I learnt that there was a similar looking dog in FC6. I checked out a quick video just now to see what he looks like and, to my delight, not only is it a similar looking dog, it’s the same dog with a riff on his old name (exported to Yara by Hurk apparently.)

I’m going back and forth on whether to get the game at the moment, especially after hearing there is a cockfighting mini game, but Boomer/Boom Boom is a big tick in the positives column.

Wait it's the SAME dog from 5?

Yep. This is the video I watched showing where he is. He’s revealed at 1.26. Whoever did the character model for that dog did an incredible job.
