Trying real hard not to remind Staygold about the other Marvel characters who very memorably died during that movie.

I’m not even five minutes in and I’m already yelling “The VOLUS and the ELCOR!” ^^
This is going to be an amazing episode, I can tell. <3

I am happy to report that my grasp of the ME proper nouns has improved since recording.

Spoiler:

I have even resisted posting something like "My inability to remember ME proper nouns hangs over the podcast like... Oh gosh. What's the word. It's like 'ghost' but different. Begins with an 's' and sounds like something a Pope might have?"

I also look forward to when the game soundtrack suddenly busts out some Blue Oyster Cult and we hear that song. YOU KNOW THE ONE.

Oh, we know the song! <3

I was coming back to say that you’re all making me feel very old, despite the validity of your points (Leeeeeeeroyyyyyyy!). Especially Glendon. I blame Glendon most of all.

I can't wait to be able to listen to that song (going to avoid for spoiler reasons for now though!)

True. My memory for anything pop culture is fleeting but also I feel apropos that NONE of the Marvel deaths have ever had me care enough to remember them

Spoiler:

Except Gamora because that was mean and I liked her

I would also like to formally retract my statement in this episode.

KB+M is THE SUPERIOR WAY to play ME:LE by a wide-margin.

That or my controller aim is just awful these days.

This is where I feel like having video recording would have come in handy because my face when he said that agreed with you

I got my "Bold Predictions" fix from this episode.

Don't worry, We could hear your facial expression clear enough. At least I could, and I'm sure I wasn't alone

Two things I want to thank the crew for this in this episode:

  • I can't remember who brought up Moonlight, but thank you! I have been testing SteamLink on my Raspberry Pi for some time and, while it was mostly working, the lag was definitely noticeable. With Moonlight, it's all gone. I was skeptical at first, and I am still having issues with my DualShock 4 is recognized as a generic wireless controller for some reason (which creates all sorts of weird controller mapping issues), but the lag is gone and the video quality is much better. (My Dual Shock 3, however, is recognized properly and works flawlessly). Looks like my goal of getting rid of my home theater PC and just having the Raspberry Pi hooked up to my TV is actually realistic now!
  • Thanks Amoebic from bringing up the soundtrack for Subnautica: Below Zero, I was looking for new music, and this fits the bill perfectly!

Thanks for covering my question. It generated more discussion than I expected.
Being a gamer with job, kids, dog, and a nearly new and tragically underused HOTAS is the primary inspiration for the question.

I hope my other one comes up soon as I expect some interesting responses.

My controller aim has always been awful, but that doesn't keep me from saying I'm glad you finally came to see the light.

I've been playing a ton of Hood and I'm really enjoying it. I agree it needs some tweaks and balancing, but I think what's there is fun. I'm not sure I agree with the perk system being TOO powerful and it definitely doesn't take 30 hours to unlock them for each character. I've played 60 hours and have all perks unlocked for everyone. They've already patched matchmaking. It's better, not great.

Having started my Mass Effect Legendary playthrough, I agree with TheHarpoMarxist's wish for an off-line, progress-related, non-spoiler Codex to dip into when I'm not playing. I played last night after putting the kids to bed, and only had so much time before my own bedtime, and used up about half of it in the Codex, because I love Neil Ross' narration of the main entries. I could probably fall asleep listening to Neil Ross describing Mass Effect generators or how armor works.

No regrets, though, as I am determined not to rush. I only just got to the Citadel and I want to to savour the experience and smell the flowers along the way.

I'm glad to hear good things about Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle. I enjoyed that game a lot. As someone without a lot of experience in that kind of turn-based tactics game, it was super approachable and fun. It still had some complexity in terms of picking your squad and your loadout so it was approachable without being bland. And I completely agree with Rich on the game being really well suited for the Switch. I played it a long time ago, back when where we would actually go to an office to work (you may not remember, but that did happen), and it was really seamless to just finish a turn on the metro, turn the console off, and pick right back where I left on the way back home.

100%.

Also, Staygold's take was weird to me for another reason: when he said Thanos was the only Marvel character that died, I thought:

Spoiler:

"Dude, almost all the villains have died." Loki and Thanos notwithstanding, the MCU seems to hate keeping villains alive across multiple movies.

(I don't know if that really counts as a spoiler, but I'll be cautious.)
