NFL 2021: Draft

"Can never have too many CBs."

It came true!

I don't know sh*t about Jamar Johnson outside of Legion's writeup, but if the kid can blitz he may make a nice Raven.

Hey someone for Lamar to throw the ball to

Saints don't really need Elijah Moore do they?

Which means the Packers will have an opportunity to pass on him and send Rodgers into full nuclear meltdown.

Poor Rashod Batement, we know Gophers are supposed to go to Tampa.

Have to imagine Aaron Rodgers just threw a chair threw a wall. He would have been a great pick for the Packers.

I actually really wanted him to go to the Ravens but it'll make it less ideal for me to take him in the dynasty draft.

I mean, they drafted and traded away Brandin Cooks once already.

Agreed. They really need another true outside WR.

Bateman seems a good Ravens fit. Guy balls in the middle of the field, which, oh, right, Lamar throws well in that area.

With their next 1st pick maybe they get another WR?

Never mind, they'll trade out.

Packers on the clock.

TAKE A QB, YOU COWARDS.

I compared Payton Turner to Cam Jordan, even used Jordan as his GIF, and he's drafted by the team that has Cam Jordan. Clearly they have a type.

Payton Turner - Houston

- Tall, super long arms (35"), and heavy for a DE. Kind of like a Cameron Jordan type of end.

Taken by........the Saints! Ofc

Anything but a WR. I wanna see Rodgers Rage.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA

RODGERS SMASH

"I'll take 'Draft Picks Guaranteed To Piss You Off' for $500, Aaron."

Well maybe they can just cut Kevin King now.

Sigh.

PFF had a 4th round grade on Stokes. That might be the most shocking pick of the round.

So he's better than Kevin King!

LOL, that's looking at the bright side, but yes, it's true.

Oweh with the speed for the Ravens

I'm not buying Jones as the pick.

For one, if Shanahan wanted a Kirk Cousins skill set so badly, he could have offered those three 1s to Minnesota and gotten the real Cousins.

Also, the 49ers just went after Matt Stafford. Seems like they're looking for the sort of arm you can find in Wilson, Fields, and Lance, but not Jones.

Really, the more I think about it, the more I think it's gonna be Trey Lance. Shanahan is definitely one of the coaches that would not be scared away by low sample sizes.

If you're trading that much capital to move up, I think you must be looking for a weapon, not a ball distributor. They already have a ball distributor QB, they're looking to replace him.

Granted, this may all be moot in 2 years when Josh Rosen ascends to his prophesized splendor.

I let the noise get to me. I had this sh*t all along.

Mac Jones never made sense as a guy to unload a bazillion picks to get. Never. That's the thing that made no sense. The guys you do that for have something you can't teach.

What pisses me off is that I had written an epic post detailing all the reasons I didn't think the Niners would take Mac, and also why I thought it would be Lance.

I was going to post it right after the draft guide. But then I chickened out because I already give you sharks too damn much ammo to mock me with, and this was like a "Pepe Silvia" kind of post.

And now that post would be such great fodder for me to be smug over. I robbed myself.

I wonder if there's an actual package out there where the Packers actually just say f*ck it and trade him.

No player is untouchable.

Baker, OBJ, and a second!?

Gotta ship those 1st round WRs out of town to make room for Rodgers.

Bless you Dave.

So a RB actually does go in round 1

Not happy about this, I wanted OL. Everyone complained about the 2020 Steelers running game, but the pass blocking wasn't great either, which is part of why Roethlisberger was always throwing the ball away after 0.2 seconds.

Now I'm very concerned there won't be a way for the Steelers to get a solid C at pick 55, but we sit on our picks pretty often. Najee Harris is a great RB, but I wonder if we would have picked Darrisaw if he hadn't been taken at pick 23 like 2016 all over again (thx Artie Burns). I guess RB is the best place to stick an impact round 1 rookie on O, assuming we can fill out the OL on day 2, but it feels so risky. Oh well, in colbert we trust, it's hard to complain too much recently outside of Artie Burns.

Edit:

The mock that I liked the most on solving the Steelers O was to trade the 24 and 55 for the 29 and AJ Dillon, and then fortify the OL with the 29, possibly on a C.

The mock that entertained me the most was the one that sent Waddle to the Eagles, and justified it because it would create an unstoppable Jalen/Jalen/Jaylen QB/WR/WR starting lineup.

I'm way less down on the Steelers drafting Harris than I am about the Jags taking Etienne because, as you say, day 1 impact. Steelers are in win-now mode until Ben finally hangs them up.

Jags are in year 1 of a new regime rebuild (and also had a rookie RB last year that ran for 1070 yards in only 14 games but THAT ASIDE...)

I don't think it will be too hard for Pittsburgh to find a decent interior line prospect in day 2. There's a lot of them. Might have a hard time finding an upgrade for Okorafor at left tackle, but as you note, once Darrisaw was off the board, the draft was out of day 1 left tackles. I like Dillon Radunz and wouldn't mind him landing in Jacksonville, but probably isn't a guy ready to start year 1 for a team that expects to contend.

The mock that entertained me the most was the one that sent Waddle to the Eagles, and justified it because it would create an unstoppable Jalen/Jalen/Jaylen QB/WR/WR starting lineup.

They still have a chance to draft Georgia Tech WR Jalen Camp. Then it would be a true Jalen/Jalen/Jalen trio.

Or they can trade with the Niners for Jalen Hurd. He'll be healthy enough to play this year, we swear.

How it started vs. how it's going:
