MLB The Show 21

This game which has only been a Playstation exclusive is now come to Xbox. Bigger news (I had pre-ordered it, but now cancelled it), is that it is being offered on Game Pass(!!). Wow.

I've basically bought a playstation a few years ago just to play this game, which imho, is amazing.
You can find out more about it if you go YouTube and search, 'MLB The Show 21 Feature Premier'. Once a week they have been giving a video on the features of the game.

This game offers cross platform on-line play (PS folks).

Anyway I think this game is amazing for what it presents and does, and I'm beyond tickled it's now being offered on X-Box One etc.

I'm still hoping for this series to come to PC. For years there's been nothing but basketball and soccer. Football has recently returned. Unfortunately for me, baseball and hockey are my two favourite sports and are still console only.

There is https://store.steampowered.com/app/9.... It’s not The Show, but franchise mode is surprisingly deep. I really appreciate the very fine grained difficulty settings via the Ego system. There are mods around, including one to set up a RL MLB league, though I haven’t tested that out myself. It holds up far better than I expected. For more simulation oriented play there is also Out of The Park Baseball; but of course neither give the RTTS experience which is what I mostly care about in The Show.

SMB3 plays the best game of baseball on any console. The games feel like baseball in a way that The Show never has, and the franchise mode is all the better for not being tied to MLB and the MLB contract season/financial/etc structure.

That said, I coulda sworn it's been hinted that the game was coming to PC in addition to XBox, but looking around I can't find anything other than that.

I totally agree having played SMB from the beginning. But there just something about playing baseball with all the MLB bling *chuckle*

SMB3 feels like great arcade baseball, but for me at least has never come close to the actual feel of playing the game. With The Show, in spite of its yearly flaws, I can fire up RTTS and actually get into the game, feeling like I’m there playing, bringing up those feelings from when I played when younger. This is only true in RTTS mode; part of that is they seem to adjust the sounds. Trying to play in a normal mode after some RTTS is always disappointing to me because the sound is so different, and I’m quickly torn out of the fantasy of actually playing.

It is out for the XBox this year, but sadly not the PC.

RTTS is going to be even more experienced enhanced with audio podcast for 'X's and actual video podcasts for Next Gen. These podcast by real MLB folks will be about your playing and how he's doing. Should be cool.

I have had it preloaded for about a month now and was so glad to try it out last night. I haven't played The Show since the '17 version and getting into RTTS was a little different than I remembered. I want to set up the global presentation so when I pitch the camera is behind the catcher. Couldn't find that option.

I put about 2 hours into it last night but I am excited to get home and give it another go.
