Win of the Day

I'm not upgrading until the bugs are ironed out, but it has been fun getting my PC ready for Windows 11! Last week I got TPM 2.0 working, with a BIOS update from Asus and some fiddling.

Yesterday I managed to get UEFI working. I love how obstacles always turn up even in simple things like this and then fixing them. So yesterday I learned that you cannot log into the command prompt startup (to change my boot structure from MBR to GPT) if I haven't logged into Windows itself with my new password once.

My PC is now a bit more secure, and ready to upgrade

I've been meaning to get back to drawing my comic for some time, and I started this weekend. There was one panel I was dreading having to draw, and I think that was why I was procrastinating so much. So, today, I put on a podcast and just did it! It's not perfect, but I think it matches the rest of the comic well enough. So, yay, I can finally move on and finish this thing! Only 8 panels remaining (and the ink wash after that).

Edit: And, a few days later, the pencils and inking are done! All that is left is ink wash, import and layout in Manga Studio, and the French and English lettering!

Also got a call from a recruiter this morning. I've already interviewed for that job a few months ago, and I thought the interviewer was an arrogant prick, but hey, it's only 4 months and should pay for my expenses for the next year, so...

Finally, after over a month of waiting (life happened), I finished my steel braided brake line upgrade on my motorcycle. Got ‘em bled wonderfully, got the fuel tank back on, and after a few presses of the ignition, it fired up.

All that’s left is to put the bodywork back on and clean up my tools.

After many years of life getting in the way, I was finally able to launch a YouTube channel. The first two videos actually use almost entirely old footage, recorded in 2020 and 2017, which made writing the script this year really weird since nothing I had done in the footage was fresh in my mind. Thankfully all footage going forward is new so new videos should be less of a slog to write.

Finished yesterday! Inkwash, import into Manga Studio, French and English lettering, everything! The whole thing took... way more time than I was expecting, with very, very long periods of inactivity. It feels great to be done. Also, I really like the font I created for it, it fits the look pretty well.

Not sure I will share the rest. While it is not erotic in nature at all, there is a lot of... exposed bits, so...

I think I also figured out why my bike trainer was squeaking, and my initial test seems fairly conclusive. I should be able to resume cardio soon, with 30 minutes every other day to start.

Tell all your friends, https://playoffstatus.sibr.dev/ is back, baby! I fixed all the broken stuff with the new season changes.

Next panel: "I'm going to GTFI. Into your mouth! With my penis!"
And then the penising commences. You know that's where the comic goes in your heart of hearts.

It looks good, and I'm curious to see what he had to get out of. An abusive relationship? A crappy job? Just his apartment? The mafia? So many possibilities! For his penis.

In this case, it was just a crappy job. Funnily enough, I wrote the script in 2017 after I quit crappy job, and I finished drawing it after I quit another crappy job.

Trying to start a new morning routine today, and so far it's going well. Instead of looking at my phone for 10+ minutes when the alarm goes off, I got up right away. I'm also trying to have a more complete/sane skincare routine to address some issues that have come up. Then I walked over to a nearby coffee shop as a bit of early exercise before returning home and heating up one of the pre-prepped breakfasts I made last night. Here's hoping I can keep it up for longer than a week.

DAD BOSS!!!

This was the dry run for my youngest' birthday next week. I jotted down some lessons learned (I cut too diagonally, will try to temper the chocolate to make for a crusty layer, and write her name in chocolate letters).

The feedback of the party girl: "but the colors are upside down" Not easy to please

Spoiler:

She did later tell me she's happy to the moon, our appartment and back to my nose. ;-)

That is amazing! Please share your next attempt. IMAGE( https://emojipedia-us.s3.dualstack.us-west-1.amazonaws.com/thumbs/240/htc/37/birthday-cake_1f382.png)

Rainbow Unicorn Cake v2.0 rose better, was more consistent and fluffy, and was decorated in a 80s nostalgia style, with M&M's And painstakingly crafted chocolate letters

Wow! Amazing! I love it! You did a wonderful job! IMAGE(https://emojipedia-us.s3.dualstack.us-west-1.amazonaws.com/thumbs/120/joypixels/291/heart-on-fire_2764-fe0f-200d-1f525.png)

Agreed, this looks amazing!

Here's my big win of the day! I've frequently won $25 or $50 but this is the most ever. Not a bad way to start the day.

EDIT: And because I felt lucky this morning I bought 2 $30 scratch off tickets and ended up winning a total of $130. I think I've used up my luck for the day!

After a very long time since being on my motorcycle, I took time out yesterday to get my gear ready, with the goal of just going across town for tacos. 45 degrees is not wonderful riding weather, but with enough layers and wind protection, it worked out well. Once I got back on the road I remembered why I love riding and took a 2 hour detour ride before getting tacos. I cannot wait to get back out there...

Also, tacos were still dope.

After a lot of frustration, I finally generated some fiber tractography. I'm still a novice using tutorial datasets, but it's the first time in my studies that I finally thought "huh, maybe I am starting to learn a thing or two about my area.

I still need a lot of study before I can do this without guidance, but all of this was made by myself It's pretty. I'm proud

Very cool!

I'm not very handy with house stuff. One thing I was pretty proud of ~15 years ago was installing a heavy-duty metal hose wheel to the side of my house. I made sure to find beams to drill into and this thing has been solid for all this time.

Cut to now, and the hose wheel finally needed to be replaced. I was dreading this because I didn't want to ding my siding or somehow mess up installing a new one. I tried searching for an identical replacement to no avail. The ones in Home Depot and Lowes didn't match either. However, I found a bunch online that kinda looked the same. One of them even had the measurements for the screw holes listed in the description.

I ordered that one and when I went to install it, the holes lined up perfectly! Four screws out, four screws back in and I'm done!

DOA just bought pizza for the staff because the partners are all at the annual partners' retreat. It's small, but it's a win.

Our new fridge was finally delivered today!

We discovered the old one was dead on April 9 when our ice cream was just cream.

This new fridge has supposedly been in transit from NJ since April 11. It's been a long several weeks of limping along with a cooler and a mini fridge. (We were able to get a chest freezer for the basement, so at least we didn't have to buy ice for the cooler the entire time).

I GOT THE JOB!
