Valheim - Valhallall, Meadhallall, Shieldwallall

Agreed. Thanks Ranalin for everything you did with the servers in the past. It was a lot of fun.

were you able to get a backup of the save files?

No that was my issue with them. Apparently they had an emergency update which wiped things and actually caused the IPs i had to change. I received no emails from them. I didn't know this happened until a month later when one of our folks tried to log in and asked me if something was wrong with the server. Where the backup was no longer good. Their initial response was that i should be logging in more often to make sure things were running correctly.

I told them i was paying them to manage these servers and not to do it myself. They then offered to refund me 1 week. I laughed at them and told them that was silly and i would be canceling my accounts with them. I had the valheim servers and 2 others and told them i'd be telling folks to stay away from them going forward.

Thanks for hosting the servers as long as you did Ranalin! I didn't jump back in for the Hearth and Home update, but really enjoyed that first journey with everyone last year.

Same. Thank you, Ranalin!

Valheim is coming to Game Pass on September 29, just in case someone was holding on this game now you can try it kind of free.

My only wish is that they release Mistlands the same day, but I'm pretty sure that will not be the case

Is there currently a GWJ multiplayer server? Preferably not too advanced? If there isn't, would anyone like to join starting one?

I'll be restarting mine when the mistlands patch arrives. Not sure when that will be. Hopefully soon.

Mistlands is here. I started the game and found I could remember nothing. Like a newborn. Anyone want to start a server, as beginners?

Not at all sure this is worth it, but I think I'm going to try for the Fishing Hat...

Spoiler:

You have to catch 1 of each of all 12 fish.

The difficult parts I assume are:
the fish from the frozen north
the fish from the ashlands
the fish from the ocean that require a serpent trophy to craft bait
and worst...the fish from inside a frost cave, something that appears in almost no frost caves...

Arise, thread that I killed apparently.

So I've been playing on Xbox. I've only found one bug so far, which is that the iron sword just randomly isn't hitting anything sometimes, so skipped swords for the iron age. If anyone is on Xbox and would like some help/tutorials/company especially for the next two weeks (which are school holidays here in Greece)...let me know.
---------------------------------
I've decided to make my adventures a bit easier in one respect, which I don't think I need to spoiler.
Basically, I have two worlds: my normal world where I spend 95% of my time, and my Boss world, where I only go to locate and kill the bosses. So far I have around 120 days in my normal world, and 10 days in the world where I've killed bosses up to Bonemass.

I just haven't felt like having my main base super defended/moated, and having the potential for Xbox-specific bugs messing things up with events. I was maybe very lucky when they re-sized Xbox maps, as I got a message (something like "if your construction happened where we re-sized...it might all be in pieces now. Sorry folks."), but my stuff was fine.

So, anyone else an Xbox viking yet?

Well, it has been a while since a game beat me up as much as Ashlands just did. Tonight will be interesting.

For those who want a game that harkens back somewhat to Valheim, with elements of other games that I can't recall the names of atm, is a new survival game coming out called Aska, which has a demo on Steam that you may want to check out.

I played the demo and enjoyed it quite a bit. One of the primary differences that I enjoyed was that you get to bring in NPCs that can help in building/foraging/fighting in game. You can also have 3 other people join you in game as well.
