Felix “Bald Agent” Threepaper
Welcome folks, and happy “80th Anniversary of the Three Stooges’ You Nazty Spy!” week! This was the Three Stooges—who were all Jewish—sending up Nazis and fascists, including Moe’s impersonation of Hitler peppered with Yiddish sayings. It was also the first Hollywood send-up of Hitler, beating Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator by 9 months. You may all celebrate by eye-poking a Nazi.
Hitman 3 kicks off the big-name releases for 2021. The reason you can’t see it on the Switch list is that it is only playable on Switch using its cloud service. This one wraps up the storyline of the rebooted series and will be the last Agent 47 game for a while, as Developer IO Interactive works on its James Bond game. Hitman 3 sticks to what was best about the previous 2 games, adding a few tweaks to refine the formula rather than reinventing it. Each level is a small, open world, packed with quirky secrets. Replayability is the focus as you discover more creative ways to inhume your target. Each run through a level can also unlock new gear and starting positions for your next run. The new Shortcuts feature will allow you to open up new routes on a run that will remain open for future runs. There’s also some new gadgets, including a camera that hacks things.
If you prefer your murder to be less sneaky, and more in space, and awash with neon, then check out Redout: Space Assault. It’s a space combat game that’s less sim and more arcade: more enemies on screen but they’re more easily dispatched.
If you’d rather focus on grievous bodily harm, there’s The King of Fighters XIV Ultimate Edition. This franchise may not be as well known in the West as Street Fighter, but it offers a deeper roster of characters and more game modes, including more single-player modes.
If you want to order others to do your dirty work for you, then The Unexpected Quest on Switch may be worth a look. It’s a relatively mellow, medieval fantasy, Warcraft 3-inspired strategy game. You gather resources, build your village, fight beasties, and do various other things to make numbers go up.
I’ll give the GOTW to Hitman 3, adding it to my future Pile for when I’m ready to play games from 2021.

Hitman 3... Sure seems cool. I still haven't gotten past Hitman 1. I love that they bring all the games forward with the engine and game improvements. Quality dev support.
How did I live before digital distribution of old, cheap games?

I was going to complain about someone using the name Redout when there's an anti-grav racing game with that name, but it turns out Redout: Space Assault is from the developers of Redout. Guess they're trying to make it a brand across genres.
I picked up HITMAN and HITMAN 2 in the Steam sale, and now that I've put a 3070 in my living room PC, these are going to be some of my go-to couch games that actually make use of that GPU's power. (First thing I played on the new GPU was... Into the Breach. Such a PC gamer cliche thing to do.)

Just as a heads up for people getting Hitman 3 on PC who have 1 and 2 on Steam. As of right now you can't import the maps/progress from the previous games into 3 because it's an EGS timed exclusive for a year. They're trying to figure out how to fix this, but no ETA on when that'll be coming.
I saw that, and will take my usual tact with EGS exclusives, in that they don't exist until that exclusivity ends. Picked up Outer Wilds in the recent Steam Winter Sale. HItman 3 can wait as well.

Skycadia looks interesting, but I'm not sure about it .

I nearly gave it a shout out -- my impression was that it looks like arcadey fun for 15 minutes or so, but hard to tell if it's got the legs (wings?) to appeal for longer.
