Outriders - Catch All

Good stuff. Interesting to see how they scaled their level structure. I figured tier 15 would be end game but maybe end game begins even “earlier” like at 10 or 11.

Anyway I won’t stress out about tiering up as much. WT6 has been somewhat hard in that I will definitely get shredded if I dive into a new mob of enemies. I always do better if I stay in place and wait for them to come to me. But the volcano quest rewarded me my first Epic ever. Chose the auto shotty with aoe damage and a stacking Crit damage multiplier. What do they say at McDonald’s? Bada ba ba ba, I’m lovin’ it.

I find the game AI sees you doing this and then throws everything it can to force you to move. They rush you with beserkers, throw grenades at you, but then have snipers waiting to show your head. Then enemies spawn behind you and start shooting you in the back. It more feels like moving is the only option (at least with the pyro).

I picked up where I left off after the demo and am having fun, but haven't been able to join random multiplayer groups in matchmaking (I'm assuming because of server issues). Feel free to add me (mrlogical on xbox) if anyone wants to partner up for a bit, especially tonight around 10ET. I'll probably check the discord server too. The game feels a hair too tough for me solo, though perhaps I just need to tune down my world tier...

What’s with the spawning? I thought I was imagining it. I will get goons spawning behind me no matter what.

I was getting into a groove last night when the DCs started. Kept replaying the first part of Divine Intervention and just gave up after 4 DCs.

Well I can tell I'm going to be digging on this game even though I've hardly been able to play due to server issues. I can also tell I'm not going to be digging playing it with a controller so even though it's free on Gamepass, just dropped the cash on Steam to get that version.

I guess Square Enix knew something when they agreed to console only for Gamepass....

I have been digging into the mods list on the wiki and I have to say I am seeing incredible builds emerging. And quite a few are giving me ideas for pistols. There are a number of skills that mark targets and deal X damage on them on reload. Of course shotguns and rifles would be great for these but while they benefit from smaller clips (so these skills would trigger more often), they have longer reload times and small max ammo caps. Pistols on the other hand have small clips for faster reloads but have infinite ammo. So I could see some pistol builds that value anomaly power over firepower to take advantage of big damage aoe skills that trigger on reload or first shot.

Here are some easy to get tier 1 mods that could be really powerful:
clip combustion - aoe blast on reload
embalmer's rage - killing shots = 100% crit for 5 seconds
hot blood - (love this mod) 50% enemy hp explodes for aoe burn
life stock - reload heals based on # of kills since last reload
proliferation - spread condition to nearby enemies
ricochet - bullet bounce

tier 2 mods:
clip roller - zomg, rolling reloads weapons below 50% ammo (think of this one and how many reload based skills there are)
mark of the stake - burn on reload
striga - 30% of crit is returned as hp (think about combining this with the 100% killing shot crit t1 mod)
reflex chamber - slow on reload

As a trickster I am rocking an auto shotgun that does 420 damage. I love that crafting means I can easily swap gear and keep my current favorite mods.

So finished the main story line and got to the end game right at the 30 hour mark with Trickster. Took a pyro, set to WT1 and skipping the cut scenes to end game in about 6-7 hours (probably closer to 4-5 but server crashes yesterday were brutal)

OK no question I'm being dense here but: how do you spend class points on PC? I keep clicking on the node in my skill tree, have tried hitting return, stays greyed out. Am I missing something? Oh and I do have a skill point to spend...

Ahhhh hadn’t even thought that’d be the fastest way to do that, thanks for the tip!

Next one i do i think i'll set the WT at max during the last chapter or two just to start building up a better supply of gear.

Sometimes it took me a few clicks to get it to stick. Maybe a bit of a click and hold?

OK playing Techno. I'm able to click the node that leads to the Tech Shaman part of the tree but I can't click the node to lead to Pestilence. I can't even get it to show when I hover over it, only the one leading to Tech Shaman. Anyone having this issue?

I'm 3/4 of the way down the Pestilence tree and have had no issues of this sort. Maybe try resetting your skill tree now that you can invest a point?

I continue to have a bug where the first time I fresh launch into the game I have no HUD and have to do a "Back to Lobby then Back to Game" cycle to have it come back but thankfully have had zero DC's

I usually have to press and hold on a class skill to unlock it. Sometimes it takes a few shots.

Huh it is really weird, I have 7 skill points now, have tried resetting skill points, relaunching game, rebooting my computer, hovering and clicking and holding like crazy. Just can't get it to work. I can't find a bug reported for this so I'm assuming it's user error, I just don't know what the heck I'm doing wrong.

Tech Shaman is working out OK so far so maybe not a big deal.

Edit: Figured it out. I'm using an ultrawide screen which has been fine but for some reason on that screen it is burying the starting nodes so they can't be clicked. I dropped to 1080 and now they are displaying properly so will just need to do this when I'm adding class skills.

So, I made it to the first "big boss". The spider thing. I noticed it dropped titanium almost always so...I farmed it for a bit:

I left world tier on auto and the only time I died was when I first got to world tier 9. I leveled up my weapons and then I was back to killing this thing in less than 2min.

One thing I've learned that makes a HUGE difference: weapon mods become available once you dismantle a weapon that has it. What this changes is the need to hold onto lower level items for the sake of a mod. What I was able to do was dismantle purples and the one legendary I got from the demo and put those mods on something else. So, to save currency, I would take a green weapon/armor, level it whatever my max is (do this on your highest world tier to get as high as possible), then just change the mods. Now, you can only change one mod, which is why you upgrade from green. You'll have a chance to choose the mod at blue and then the second one at purple. From there, you can change the least desirable one to anything you want. The best part is, you don't spend titanium until it's purple. You level it up with iron/leather (weapons vs armor) and then use 50 titanium to switch it over to purple. Mod changes use iron/leather too so can save on titanium.

This should save you from wasting time trying to farm for specific purples. Once you get a weapon you like, you can just take a weaker one and bring it up so, don't hold onto anything as you are playing if you find a blue or green that has better stats. Just bring the lower rarity up. Once you unlock hunts and such it should be easier because you won't have to reset the world like you do with the story bosses.

You'll end up still having to farm. People are looking for specific stats on the gear and when you level gear up those stats get rerolled. Till you're doing drop pods it's not that big of a deal but to progress to higher WTs you need to hone in on the specifics of what your class is trying to do.

Is matchmaking working for anyone? I know they've had server issues but those haven't prevented me from logging in (at least not since the first night), but when I try to join a random public game, it always ends up erroring out. I enjoyed doing this in the demo, just hopping in with a random one or two other folks, and would like to do that now, I'm not sure if it's just not working for anyone as they're figuring out their server loads or if this is a problem specific to me that I need to figure out.

Spoiler:

F*king shaman warlord.

That is all.

Well, my tank spec Devastator now has over 30k armor and can solo the 1st tier of the drop pod content, but my damage output is pretty pathetic.

Any lvl 30 damage dealers want to group up soon?

Wish there were clans on this game.

CosmicNomadXL on xbone

hopefully soon! I've been rolling through stuff with my technomancer build with all this extra sniper damage and LMG with the damage chain (which is insanely high damage right now)

I am slowly plodding along, at level 11 world tier 6. Working my way through the second "hub" which I hope will let me unlock crafting. Playing a Devastator and enjoying it a lot. I do wish shotguns didn't run out of ammo so fast!

If Xplay was working i'd say hit me up

I have a Technomancer at WT 9 and a Trickster at WT10

I am disappoint. I expected more from you.

Ok they can optimize this game any time. The UE4 crashes are getting old. And now I’m getting an anti-cheat crash at startup too.

I love that this game leans into the Diablo style "Go be a demi-god" build style. It's really really satisfying crafting a perfect build that melts enemies. I'd rather that be the style and push me against harder levels of enemies (i.e. WT 10+) than grinding for incremental improvements to take on late game content. My current Pestilence rifle build is hitting for 45k crits with regularity and I'm only level 28. Excited to wrap the story and push into expeditions. Was enjoying WT6 as a difficulty but popped it to WT7 because I was just melting enemies a little too easily.

One thing I hope they fix is the "sway" on snipers. Rifle builds are the current long range go-to because although snipers have more raw damage, the artificial sway they induce while scoping means I can only hit 30-40% of my shots whereas the zero sway on rifles means I'm up at 80-90% accuracy without too much trouble

Yea you'll be able to do 200-400k shots to weak points when you reach WT 10.

I finally got to play a bit but I did not save my character from the demo and did not farm. I thought I was doing good till WT7 and was just getting wrecked. I realized my gear was all two or three levels below my level and I had only one purple. I got to farming so that I can get better gear. Now to just get better.

The game really punishes you for not playing correctly.
