NFL 2020: Week 16!

This man is somehow doing the very least amount of work this season to keep from getting replaced by the #1 overall pick in the draft.

Meanwhile, the Jags game broadcast kinda threw some shade at the Jags by showing Minshew on the sidelines and overlaying a graphic that showed he had the most yards, most TDs, and fewest INTs of any Jaguar QB in history through their first 20 starts.

Not too subtly calling out that starting Glennon is a tank move.

EDIT: Glennon with 2 INTs in his last 5 pass attempts. Putting the tank on his back.

EDIT 2: Safety Josh Jones falls on his face at the 7 yard line to allow Jimmy Graham a wide open, uncontested TD catch. Guys, you have to at least make it look somewhat real.

Jets kneeling out the clock; I know what one little Jags fan is getting in their stocking next draft day. Believe this means the Jags are ensured of the #1 pick, or could tiebreakers still screw this up?

Rich Eisen wore that Trevor Lawrence wig for nothing.

IT'S OFFICIALLY HAPPENING

THE JAGUARS CLINCH THE #1 OVERALL PICK FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THEIR HISTORY

IN A DRAFT WITH A UNICORN QUARTERBACK PROSPECT

FINALLY I CAN HAVE A QUARTERBACK

LAWRENCE WORLD TOUR 2021

J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS.

The Jets beating the Browns has to be the the most hilarious scenario of two fan bases getting sucker punched.

This post combined with my nice warm new fleece, my new comfy jeans, and my comfy new gamer chair makes this the best Christmas football Sunday ever.

The fact that the Ravens will likely miss the playoffs with an 11-5 record and the Snyders of Landover will be a 4 seed with 6 wins is enough to make this suburban Marylander apoplectic .

Cleveland and/or Miami are not ready for prime time. One or both will choke and let the Ravens in.

I think our best chances are the Bills knocking off Miami

Told ya.

If the Raiders weren't such f*ckups, both Miami and Cleveland would have lost.

J-E-T-S, Jets Jets Jets

Watch Lawrence commit to another year of college now.

You shut your Canuck whore mouth.

If you wonder how bad the Jets are, the Jets are "At least Trevor Lawrence gets to go to Jacksonville instead" bad.

Teddy with career high 15th passing TD this season.

Panthers up 20-0 on WFT.

Jags need to go all-in on offensive line this offseason. But at least they already have some weapons in place for Lawrence. Chark is a vertical threat that has just been waiting for a big armed QB to come along. Laviska Shenault is one of the top graded rookie WRs at PFF, a WR-in-RB-body YAC weapon. Then the team found gold in undrafted free agency with running back James Robinson. And as an added bonus, 5th round pick Collin Johnson grades out highly on PFF this year as well and looks on track to be a good WR3.

The rookie WRs are way under the radar given that no Jag QB could target them with any regularity. But it's a lot more pass receiving ability than a QB joining a 1-15 team can usually expect.

Washington's stadium people in the last five minutes have played the Terminator and Predator themes, which is fitting since in the first movies the title characters end up getting destroyed.

I can tell you right now, you're going to hear "Ohio State QB" used as a pejorative this draft season when it comes to Justin Fields. You only heard it a little with Haskins, but now that Haskins has been what he's been at the NFL level, that perception will be amplified again.

Teddy was ... OK today. But it's easy to overlook an INT and 2 fumbles (one lost) when he's playing opposite Dwayne Haskins, who's wretched. Had Taylor Heinicke (who's also bad) played an entire half, this game might have looked a lot different.

Anyway, BREAKING news out of Green Bay: It's snowing!

I feel bad for Trevor Lawrence.

He dodged the Jets, which feels like a very depressing win for him. Also, this will make Legion happy, so, when an inevitable Jags implosion happens, it's more entertaining, right?

It's not like we got any Jets fans around here that bring *Legion*'s passion to the table.

IN A DRAFT WITH A UNICORN QUARTERBACK PROSPECT

I feel like this gets said a lot before a draft...

Nah, the unicorns, the generational QB prospects, are the ones whose names are used for years to come as the benchmark other prospects are measured against.

It's John Elway, Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, and seemingly now Lawrence, provided nothing in the draft process does anything to diminish the grades he's reportedly drawing.

The one guy between Luck and Lawrence who potentially could also have slotted in there is Joe Burrow. But Burrow only had one year of that level of play on tape. He basically transformed into a completely different dude as a senior. If he played that way for 3 years, he probably would have achieved unicorn status.

Kyler, Baker, Goff, Jameis? None of those were unicorns. You can tell by the fact that each one was measured against Andrew Luck instead of any of each other, and that we're still referring back to Andrew Luck instead of them.

Unicorn doesn't necessarily mean best eventual pro career, just the caliber of draft grade as a prospect.

Finally someone besides the Colts gets to draft one of them.

If you didn't love the offseason threads enough already around here...

So what are the odds that Jax trades that pick to Indianapolis?

I went from thinking the Browns had an outside chance of winning the division to thinking that we will repeat 2007, where we won 10 games and missed the playoffs because of tiebreakers.

Spoiler:

Still pissed the Colts that year rolled over to Tennessee and let them into the playoffs. f*cking Payton Manning

Browns don't really deserve to be in, so it's fitting. They've been all over the map on both sides of the balls. Yeah, injuries have been key, but they'd lose to just about anyone they play in the wildcard.

Congrats, man. The Panthers got Cam w a No 1 overall in 2011, and that was the most fun stretch of football I've ever had as a fan. There's nothing in football like having a true franchise QB on your team.

WE HAD ONE ACTIVE WR THIS WEEK BECAUSE OF CONTACT TRACING!!!

Nice to see winter Lambeau football.

Massive must win vs the Bears for the bye + home field next week.

Dillon is having a great game but hard to judge on one game vs the Titans. Nice to know there's depth come the playoffs tho.

Every time I watch the Titans against a good team they lose. Except the Ravens. Also I feel bad for Lawerence because he basically had the Jets and Jaguars as the two potential landing spots. It’s a lose lose situation for him.
