NBA 2020-21 Season Catch-All

Yeah those were the defending champion Rockets though. Quite different than the "oh sh*t Wade retired, what do we do now?" Miami Heat of 2020.

Of course. And the 1999 Knicks weren't some legendary team in the end. I'm just saying it's not unprecedented for lower seeds to go to the Finals or even win.

Ultimately it's clear that the 2020 Heat and Lakers benefited from the long break and lack of travel and that similarly the 2021 Heat and Lakers suffered because of the short break, compressed season and Covid restrictions.

The Raptors got pretty screwed. The layoff and bubble completely messed up their rhythm and then just as things were turning around this season the majority of key players got hit with a base case of COVID and never fully recovered. They still haven't played in their home court.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking anything away from anyone.

I am saying that games played in front of crowds with different views of the basket is different than playing in an arena with piped in noise and a stanchion without the background of people (yes, there were those weird Zoom thingies).

Not better/worse.

Different.

This is some good Twitter https://twitter.com/worldwidewob/sta...

Stotts out in POR. ESPN saying the candidates are:

Chauncey Billups
D'Antoni
Van Gundy The Younger
Juwan Howard (!!!)

6 road wins, WTF. Dallas-Clippers is a mess.

LOL, I swear to God, if I'm Detroit, I never forgive Blake Griffin.

Is the last step in "The Process" losing to Atlanta?

Still early but wow

Speaking of The Process, how well has Atlanta drafted.

Hahahahaha

Refs cut it to 3, then Atlanta slammed the door hard

Edit: and then a dumb foul opened the door again under 15 seconds. That was nutty

Clippers... win? Huh...

Surprising to me. And boring, frankly. The team I really hope doesn't win.

If the Clippers win it all, that would make 3 rings for Kawhi from 3 different teams.

That’d be cool I guess but I don’t know if I can stomach the Paul George validation. Tough choice.

In other news, I am anxiously awaiting the penalties to the Mexican national soccer team after fans made homophobic chants and hit a US team player with something thrown to the field.

Kevin Durant is terrifying.

Just ridiculous.

Dude's nearly 7 foot tall. There is no such thing as a contested three for someone his height and with his reach.

Philly playing for their playoff lives... up 2 at half. Huh.

Yeah yeah I know the Clippers just won after going down 0-2 at home, but that's the exception that proves the rule. You can't lose the first 2 games at home and win.

Jazz missing everything, some good looks. This is wild

Such good defense on that last possession.

45 for 45. My man.

Dang Phoenix with a whoopin tonight

They’re so entertaining. Of all the teams that are left… dare we dream?

Y'all, Donovan Mitchell is good.

2nd half of game 1 plus 1st half tonight is 59 points.

Every time Paul George gets fouled he jerks his head like he was shot by a gun.

Don't you worry about Playoff Paul, he'll make sure the Clippers keep their 0-for conference championship streak alive.
