I want to try Ghostrunner. It sounds up my street.

I enjoy stories with untypical structures and unpredictable narratives (I'm not a massive fan of the three act structure because, although it undoubtedly creates satisfyingly paced stories, it can also make those stories feel too similar and, once you know that structure is in play, too predictable.) Stories that are anti climactic, open ended or just have endings that come completely out of left field make me happy. I watch a lot of foreign films for that reason.

The logical next step from today's topic is what are the best games about deserted islands?

Death Stranding.

What? The Americas are basically an island.

Saddest game that I've played was The Walking Dead season 1 - the denouement at the end had me in tears.

But the saddest game I've encountered is That Dragon, Cancer. It came out when my daughter was 2, so I was deep in fresh love with my kid. I had zero interest in playing it, but I read an interview with it's creators and THAT just broke me. Took me forever to finish the article cos the tears kept getting in the way of the reading.

I mean, I know the loss of a child is an easy "win" when it comes to sad, but it hit me right in a tender spot at the time.

So glad you enjoyed my weird find, Amoebic. It was on the always great Indie Games Plus blog.

I love this topic.

I would love to hear a follow up episode to hear how everyone liked their desert island games!
