[Discussion] Welcome to the Biden Administration!

Anything related to Biden and his upcoming administration. May this thread be less active and controversial as that last guys thread.

It won’t matter. These people thrive on their hypocrisy.

But the goal isn't to change the deplorables - it is to get the Dem base so annoyed/jacked up that they turn out in the mid terms.

I know I'm tone policing but can we not with "Congress Critters"?

My understanding of the etymology there (as a former conservative kid in the 90's) was to denigrate elected officials as awful "people from DC."

I certainly have all kinds of issues with power-hunger politicians and have ZERO love for the current crop of Republicans cosplaying as authoritarians. I also feel like it's better (?) to just call them names in a way that doesn't mock the fact that they are SUPPOSED to be leaders in a democratic society.

This may be too nuanced but I'm ok with call them POS' because of bad behavior...I'm less ok with calling them names because they hold federal office. Is that making sense?

Republican f*cking assholes better for you?

They took PPP loans, when 1, their "business" wasn't shut down. And 2, they got 6-7 figure loans forgiven, and now are whining about 10k for their constituents.

It makes sense, I will adapt it.

It wasn't to denigrate them as awful people from DC, it was a way to be gender neutral about them. Not out of actual concern, but as a bit of a snarky reaction to being told just using congressman was sexist because it left out female members of Congress.

I hear that Stengah.

Yes!

Look, my reaction to "critters" is largely because it sounds so much like what dumb hick conservatives say all the time, wrapped up in their disgust of elites (ie, specialists and people with more education than your run of the mill Republican bootstrapper). Not a hill I should die on and apologies for coming across as kinda preachy. Forgive!

I am right there with you on the disgusting hypocrisy. It should be called out every time and yes to calling them names...I'm just being pedantic about using their own low effort slur back at them. (I loved the Santorum joke for those who recall that.) Feels too Limbaugh-esque.

"Critter" impies some amount of charm and cuteness. It's too good for them. Try CongressCretins.

I've been trying to replace the word congressman with Representative. Nice and gender-neutral, still accurate, furry-friendly.

I hear a lot of "Congressperson" being used by folks inside and out of govt.

Too humanizing for Republicans. It's a slippery slope.

How about Oathbreaker?

It's actually Oathkeeper. And it's a pretty decent exotic despite some hate. Especially when coupled with something like Le Monarque or Wish Ender.

I believe the streamers call it Lemon Arc which, to my french-Canadian ears, is literally painful.

They don't deserve to be named after a band that good.
