Genshin Impact Gacha-of-the-Wild All

I'll be reluctantly rolling and probably end up with Albedo. I do not have a single anemo character other than MC and it definitely hampers some dungeons/Abyss. Also, Bennett and Fischl are simply OP at what they do.

I guess we won't really know until people get there hands on Albedo but it seems like most aren't excited about him. I don't have Bennett and would love to get my Fischl up to C6 though so I might do a few pulls on this banner.

On another note, it seems like a lot of tier lists are high on Xingqiu. I'm tried using him a bit and just don't get it. How are most people using him? It doesn't seem like he is as good a dps as Ningguang plus I prefer her ranged combat over Xingqiu's sword. His elemental powers don't seem that great to have in a party just for those either. Does he get much better as you level up his constellation?

He's like Fischl in that you switch to him to get his abilities then switch right off. He's a support that brings amazing dps through his Q, damage mitigation and healing through his E, and continual reactions from the E. He adds so many different things that's he's like Bennett mark 2.

He's best with a ton of ER, like 200%, so you can have the Q again on cool down. Sacrificial sword also good for similar reasons

Peanut has it dead on: rarely if ever should you be using his auto-attacks -- you want to switch to him to use his skills on cooldown (or as appropriate for priming or triggering reactions), and then switch away. He's obscenely powerful both as a reaction enabler AND as a burst damage support (and also brings along a small amount of damage mitigation and healing to boot). While his constellations obviously improve upon these qualities, he's still quite powerful even at C0.

This part needs to be underlined and bolded, though:

Sacrificial Sword, while not compulsory, is WILDLY transformative for him.

Without it, you'll need a lot more energy recharge, and he won't generate quite the obscene amount of burst DPS. Even still, he's probably a very strong candidate for a wide range of team setups due to his broad utility and surprising power without on, but if you have a Sacrificial Sword to give him then he's very hard to argue against.

While I frequently swap around my main DPS carry as well as various other utility characters, the only time Xingqiu isn't part of my team is when I'm fighting an enemy that's immune to hydro damage. He just fits in and improves nearly any team composition. (That said, in the race for best 4 star character Bennett probably has him beat, since I'll even bring Bennett along to some fights that ARE immune to pyro damage thanks to the power of his healing/buff circle.)

If you're interested, we can probably provide more specific tips for how you can use him if you want to let us know what your team setups currently look like (ie, what characters you currently have, what levels, what weapons you have available, etc).

Also if anybody wants to ever get on a Discord voice channel with screen share to brainstorm team comps, I'm usually down. Theory crafting is a lot of the fun of this game for me. I always learn something from those conversations.

This is true for the vast majority of support characters. I hardly ever auto attack with Fischl or Diona. They come out for skills and bursts, then they're swapped out.

The only other bit of nuance to consider is the energy generation from skills. For someone like Diona, once her skill hits, I either swap to a new character immediately so they can get full value from the energy particles generated by Diona's skill, or I auto attack a couple times with Diona to stall while the energy particles generated from her skill return to me.

They have one for Bennett too. Watching those makes me sad because those are the only two 4* characters I don't have yet

Thanks everyone, I guess I'll take a closer look at him. Part of the problem is I don't feel like I have a spot for him on my main team. I could see where he would be useful in particular situations though.

And a new Klee Albedo trailer before the patch:

Nice trailer. Made him seem more interesting to me than he did before.

Haha, I love the Klee cameo. I will likely pull on the banner in the hopes of getting some Bennet and Fischl constellations but not going to stress over getting him.

Game really wants me to use Fischl. I got her from the standard pull rewards from ascending characters. Then I pulled on the new banner to get sucrose and in the process got another two Fischls. So she's C4 now.

Currently deciding whether to push for her broken C6 and likely get Albedo or hold for next banner and Ganyu. Will probably depend on how strong Albedo turns out to be.

Edit:
Currently on 79 pulls since last 5 star, who was Qiqi, so Albedo is literally right there.

Yeah, I'm trying to decide about the same thing. I just reset my pity doing last minute pulls for Chongyun and Xinyan constellations last week, and I got C1 Bennet with only two or three pulls last night (which was the must have for this banner).

So the question is whether I want to drop another couple ten stacks looking to get C3 Fischl up to C6 (and maybe add a few more constellations on for Bennett too for good measure), or hold off for Ganyu's banner. With my luck, chances are I'll just end up drawing a bunch more Sucrose anyway, you know?

Oh, yeah, ouch, That's a tough position. I'd wait at least a few more days to see what people think about Albedo. The early word is that he looks like a solid geo burst support, but even if he proves to be top tier in that category, if you've maybe already got Ningguang leveled a bit you probably don't need a second one of those unless you like his aesthetics or special utility. Granted, those geo buffs coming in 1.3 could change the picture a bit, but to me it really doesn't feel like he's doing anything THAT unique compared to Ningguang (or Zhongli for that matter) other than providing a nice buff for reaction teams in his ascension 4 talent, so even with those in mind it's still a hard argument to make.

These "Collected Miscellany" videos are better character spotlights than the actual character demos they upload.

Even if that ends up being true, he just kinda looks dull to me. The only part of his kit that looks interesting is the elevator platform, but I suspect that's going to be pretty awkward to put to any kind of good use.

In other news, I completely overlooked the fact that I had 40 Acquaint Fates lying around from Adventure Rank ups and other random bonuses. I used those with the 20 I got from character ascensions last night. I didn't get any lucky 5 star pulls, but I did come away with 1 Fischl, 1 Sucrose, 2 Bennetts, and some new 4* weapons. That should be plenty to save me from the temptation of rolling on the Albedo banner.

Is there a place that shows how many pulls you have done so I know how close to my pity I am?

I should say other than counting through the history. I did that and it looks like I am at 70. I would love to get more Fischl or Bennets, but have no interest in Albedo.

That's the only way as far as I know. My Qiqi was 2 down on page 14, so I've made 13*6+1=79 pulls since then.

Posted too quick. Nothing other than looking at History and counting.

Worth noting for anyone who isn't aware that while the hard pity hits at 90, there is an increasing soft pity that starts around 70.

So if you are ONLY looking to get your five star and save all your pulls after that, that's the point where it makes sense to switch from 10 pulls to singles.

Did a couple 10-pulls on the event banner in hopes of getting Fischl or Bennett. Ended up getting Diluc as my pity then on the 2nd 10pull got Fischl and Albedo so pretty happy with how that all worked out.

Hah, yeah, that's not a bad result at all.

Pretty sure my off banner pity rolls are just going to be Qiqi forever.

Don’t even get me started about Qiqi. The RNG has me “convinced” she’s got a higher rate than the other 5 stars.

My first 5 star was Keqing. Since then, I've only ever seen guaranteed banner rolls (ie, Venti and Zhongli) and then Qiqi three times.

Jean, Diluc, Mona, and Keqing's constellations might as well not exist.

I leveled her to 60 and then haven't used her for anything but gathering flowers, because Bennett exists.

Razor, Xingqiu and Bennett don't really need a 4th, but I tend to throw Qiqi in there for the superconduct. I might swap to Kaeya or Diona for more reliable superconduct if I can find the resources.

I may have done too much artifact farming in the leadup to 1.2. I was trying to get enough fuel to level a hydro set for Xingqiu if I can get the right main stats to drop. I was trying to claim the rewards from the new domain and the game said I was capped on artifacts and needed to make room before trying again. Apparently you can only have 1000 artifacts. If I get one more phys damage hydro set cup, I'm going to cry.

Yeah, I think Kaeya is your best bet for that team.

Funny enough, Kaeya is actually next on my list for leveling to provide superconduct support too. I haven't really done him up so far since electro Keqing has been my main carry and Chongyun has been the backup, so not much call for superconduct there. However, I'm now trying to put together a physical Keqing set as well as getting set up to support other physical carries, so it's finally time for Kaeya to eat some books.

Want to trade for roughly 300 Defense goblets? I'm not convinced other any other primary stat exists for goblets.

New code: GSIMPTq125

60 primos, 10k mora.

Decided to do some standard wishes and got 3 weapons and C3 Chongyun... After so many wishes on the previous banner, I got another off banner way quicker than ever.

Uggh, so I just got C6 Bennet thanks to the new banner. Now you might be wondering why I said Uggh, well it is because now when I use Bennet's AoE skill it converts attack damage to Pyro which drastically reduces the damage of Xinyan. I am really enjoying Xinyan as a main, so now I am trying to figure out a team comp that doesn't use Bennet, or the right sub-DPS to put on the team for when Bennet uses his AoE.

Oh, yeah, PSA: definitely don’t activate Bennett’s C6 if you haven’t. As Arkon describes, it’s a trap.

It DOES make him better as a support for fire carries (Diluc and Klee) but it ruins him for most other comps, especially ones built around physical damage and his best team where he is the carry (the Chongyun melt combo).

——

On another note, don’t sleep on this event. Looks like it might be just as generous as the one last month, except this time it doesn’t cost resin.

So given I have I believe every character except for Venti, time to build a new team around Xinyan. Thinking perhaps I could go with a double geo support.
