Well, I guess it is a demo of something...
Ok, so whatever your opinion on Windtrace is, word is that you can do the challenges in friendly co-op. So if anyone is hungry for mora, that is an option.
According to the help page I just saw in-game, you can play Windtrace in a custom coop game but you won't earn any coins.

Aye, you don't earn any of the coins for the shop, but you can play a 2-player game with a friend and help each other cheese the second tab of challenges. Over the weekend, Mantid and I were able to accomplish a few outstanding challenges this way.
On a related note, I'm not really feeling this event, but I can't turn down free resources. So I'll likely wait until the cap is up to 4800 and then just AFK however many games it takes to get full coins/rewards.
hmm, she seems kinda boring and with a selfish playstyle. Disappointing.
Hm, different strokes I suppose.
I will of course be giving the trial a go before rolling just to be sure, but I've been hyped for her since the earliest leaks.
Partly this is due to the fact that now that I've got Hu Tao set up, the biggest gap in my lineups is that I'm lacking any sort of strong physical DPS. Yes, I could have set up alternate gear for Keqing or Zhongli, but that seemed clunky and annoying to manage, and yes, I could have set up Razor but you'd be hard pressed to find a character in this game that's less aesthetically interesting to me than him. But more than that, she's kind of the first 5 star character who's whole deal is to be a physical DPS, and based on leaks and early testing on the Chinese servers this morning, she's definitely going to be tops in that category by a country mile.
On top of that, though, to me her mechanics seem fairly novel and interesting. She's maybe the most like Hu Tao in that she's all about cramming as much action as possible into a short burst window, but with a more nuanced and thoughtful set of actions within that window. Thematically appropriate, I suppose, given her design theme as a graceful heavy hitter.
So yeah, I've actually already spent the last few weeks investing resin pretty hard in getting resources ready for her. I should be able to instantly get her to 80/90 with level 7 or 8 talents, and I've got a decent Pale Flame set ready and waiting. Granted, it's questionable whether that's really going to be better than a 2 Pale Flame/2 Bloodstained set unless I get very lucky and manage to get her to C2; I do have my pity quite high to start with and a big pile of gems to burn so it's not impossible, but I suppose we'll cross various bridges when we reach them.
I guess I'm coming at it from someone who uses Diluc as their main DPS so in that regard, they don't look like they could co-exist...

On floors 9-12 of the spiral abyss, you need separate teams of 4 for each side, so you generally need at least 2 main DPS. That's one reason to have at least 2 strong carries.
There are also some floors that are very bad for certain elements. For example, my Ganyu doesn't come out to play on the current floors 9 & 10 because there are so many cryo enemies. I depend on Diluc and Ningguang to carry on those floors. For floors with a lot of geovishaps, Ning takes a break and I make teams around Diluc and Ganyu.
This is all to say that there are lots of reasons in the Abyss to have multiple carries. For the rest of the game's content, just Bennett & chill.

If you're short on good claymores, then maybe to some extent? But otherwise, they're only in competition if you're fighting enemies with no particular elemental affinities or weaknesses, because many of the harder fights in the game break down much more by what elements you can bring in your team than by what weapons you are using.
Granted, claymore users get a nice bonus where they can burn shields with their heavy hits regardless of element, but otherwise element and pure damage output matter more. But for high end combat scenarios where anything other than raw damage matters, it's all about whether you can build a team that can hit enemies with the right elements to counter their shields and innate defenses.
That being said, there are very good reasons why I waited so long before trying to put together a strong physical damage team, and for the same reasons you (and any other newer player!) might be wise to pass on Eula for now.
First, at least so far there's just a lot fewer situations where physical damage is the best solution, because there are very few enemies that are strong against all elements and/or that run geo shielding. Granted, that might change (potentially lots of new enemy types coming as Inazuma approaches), and for a certainty we'll at least see one Abyss cycle that favors physical damage through ley line effects as a way to promote Eula.
Second, physical DPS units tend to get a bit more element locked in their team comps than others do since they really only have one elemental reaction to work with (superconduct), where DPS units of other elements will usually at least have two viable reaction options (even if one will usually be better). This means that when trying to build teams to handle more unique enemy setups (mostly in the abyss, but also in events like the one that just finished) it's going to be harder to effectively fit in a physical DPS unit.
(Cryo and electro physical units will have a bit more flexibility, but since Eula is energy starved, she will usually require a cryo battery unless you spend a lot of your stat allocation on ER, countering the team composition benefit earned by her being a cryo unit most of the time.)
So yeah, for newer players looking to expand their team comp options, Eula is probably a much less appealing character to roll for. For example, since you've got Diluc, I'd personally be looking for a strong cryo DPS unit next. The cryo resonance effect is probably the next strongest for most team setups after pyro, and the way existing combat challenges have been set up, it's usually been the case that if a pyro team doesn't work, then a cryo team probably will.
(This is why I rolled so hard for Hu Tao -- the game simply refused to give me Diluc, so all I had up to that point were electro and cryo DPS units, which cover fewer combat scenarios.)
In terms of 5 star units, that basically means looking for a Ganyu rerun, or waiting for Ayaka (who will likely come with the first Inazuma patch). For four stars, Rosaria can fill that role, but she's better built as a physical DPS or cryo support than as a cryo DPS unit, but there's also some interesting things you can do with either her or Kaeya with a Chongyun support to convert their auto attacks to cryo damage.
For the rest of the game's content, just Bennett & chill.
Ha! Totally just this, really.
I like Eula's character design, but the play style showcased in that video doesn't appeal to me. She's my reverse Childe
Therefore, Zhongli is mine after 50 more rolls. Thankfully, I won the 50/50. I wouldn't have rolled for 2nd pity.
I also managed to roll 5 copies of Yanfei and a Sacrificial Sword for my Xingqiu. I hadn't planned to invest in Yanfei at all, but the gacha gods sure are giving me a strong nudge in that direction, so that might be my next side project after I gear up Zhongli.
I may end up rolling a few times on the new banner in hopes of getting another copy of Beidou for C2. Otherwise, I'll be saving.
Nice. I recently got a Sacrificial Sword for my Xingqiu as well and it's amazing when it pops. I also got a Sacrificial Fragments for Sucrose but I haven't tested that out yet.
I'm already prepped for my Jean and Rosaria to level up to 90 ASAP when I hit AR50 (I'm currently very close to reaching AR48), so I'm not looking to wish for a new character to have to build up at the moment. Also, on a personal note I'm nowhere close to pity (I only wished 5 times since I got Zhongli) and will be out of town from this weekend until the end of the month, so I'm passing on the new banner.

It's great for her. Since you have the constellation for 2 skill charges, it's pretty rare to not get the proc on one of them. The triple skill spam is perfect for funding her expensive burst and energizing the rest of your team.

Wow, that's impressive progress! I suppose that the AR levels did go by a lot faster before 50 though.
One thing of note:
While you definitely will want to ascend your characters (ie, make them 80/90 rather than 80/80) since that unlocks higher talent levels, actually leveling to 90 is a resource investment that should be reserved for just your main DPS (if at all) until you've got a wider team built up. It sounds like you're probably getting to the place there the advice on resin efficient character investment will start being useful:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Imp...
That's generally the method I've followed, and it's served me well, although I've erred on the side of getting supports slight higher level than suggested (ie, 70/80 rather than 60/70, or 80/80 rather than 70/80) just to gain a bit more comfortable survivability here or there or to amp up key talents.
Also, there are a few characters I bumped up a tier in terms of priority. I add Zhongli to that same special category as Bennett and Venti, and a few supports who are key to a lot of my favorite comps (Xingqiu, Jean, Xiangling) also got a bit higher investment earlier.
Also worth noting that that post was written before Rosaria, and since she's one of your DPS carries, it's worth pointing out that she does not count as a "hyper carry" for the purposes of investment priority -- that list remains just the five mentioned in that post, although we'll see what testers and theory crafters find to be the case with Eula (she might qualify given how much field time she takes, but it's probably a bit marginal).
It sounds like you're probably getting to the place there the advice on resin efficient character investment will start being useful:
Are you telling me I shouldn't have Rosaria, Jean, Zhongli, Bennett and Xingqiu all at level 80 with level 80 weapons right now? Also Fischl's at 70 and ascended so she could go higher, with a level 80 R5 Windblume Ode. Since I've been locked at a max level of 80 since AR 40, I've been spending my time leveling up my key characters.
Don't worry, I've been working on artifacts too, but I usually run through a domain a few times, and run out of resin and often wind up with little to show for it that wasn't better than what I already had. It's very slow to level them too- even when daily running around the map to click on the investigate spots, when I do get something I want to level up it takes forever. That's why I can't wait until I reach trust level 8 of my teapot so I can get another source of XP for my artifacts.
I couldn't resist throwing a bunch of primos at the banner this morning... I mainly wanted to get a constellation for Xingqiu, a decent sword, or claymore. Ended up with a Beidou, 2 Xinyans, and a Widsith. Sigh.
At least I also got a constellation for Diluc, so not all bad.
Oh, Beidou and Widsith aren't bad at all, and if you're going to lose the 50/50, lose it on a Diluc constellation!
I'm sure everyone's thought of it already, but man did they miss a golden opportunity to to switch Yanfei's name to Eula. She could have been the legal counsel:

Acronym joke aside, Eula is a pretty meaningful name for the Spindrift Knight.
A little Q&A about upcoming improvements to the Serenitea Pot and co-op
Summery:
- 1.6 will see an increased load limit, depending on your device
- 1.6 will also allow you to navigate Tubby's menus, rather than having to start a new conversation with him
- Paved roads and floating rocks for your teapot are being worked on
- 1.6 will unlock the rooms upstairs
- Placing characters in your teapot is still being worked on
- 1.6 will let you craft in co-op (I like how they felt they had to clarify you get to keep the crafted items when you leave co-op)
- 1.6 will also see arrows on the map to help location co-op members
- They didn't mention petting dogs or cats!
Thanks to my depression and crazy schedule the past month, I have not had a chance to log in much to the game. Sadly this has caused me to lose all interest so unfortunately I think I am going to just uninstall and try to forget the money I spent while I was having a great time with the game. Really is a good game, I suppose I should have learned my lesson by now to not get too attached to a game and really should probably learn to not play games that have in-game purchases.
1.6 livestreams are this Friday, so we'll have official confirmations of Klee rerun, our first playable Inazuma character, and Jeanne and Barbara summer skins, plus whatever ends up being finished, like artifact transmutation or a little archipelago and boat area.
But perhaps most important is the three codes from primogems they usually release, each usable for around 24 hours, so be sure to be ready to grab them!
I’ll be driving through the Florida Everglades around then. I’m hoping I’ll have a signal on my phone and can redeem the codes before they expire.
A reference for the event starting in a few hours:
Are they going to expect us to figure out more gibberish like that stupid Ella Musk daily commission that keeps popping up? Please say it's not so.
Thanks!
One of today's leaks is Kazuha's story trailer. It also give us our first (silhouetted) look at Baal, the Archon of Inazuma, and Kujyo Sara, one of Baal's hunters. Looks like speculation that Baal would be based on Raiden Mei from Honkai Impact 3rd is spot on, although I wish they had gone with her horned version.
Current word is Klee's banner will feature Fischl, Sucrose, and Barbara as the featured four stars. Works for me! All characters I use!

Hmmm.
I'm back from a week+ out of town (and away from my computer) and I'm needing to remind myself that while it would be nice to have Eula the chances of me getting a 5-star and winning the 50/50 when I've literally only wished 5 times since getting Zhongli are very slim. And while it would be nice to get another constellation or two on Xingqiu, I currently have no intention of building the other two characters on the current banner.
But, Klee might be interesting to shoot for, and while my Fischl is C2 and my Sucrose is C4, I think they both would grow in usefulness with more constellations. Only thing is I'm regretting not raising Xiangling yet (and raising Yanfei to 70 instead) and if I go for Klee that might make me put off Xiangling again.
Just be warned -- while Klee can be quite powerful, she's a bit finicky to play, and fills EXACTLY the same niche as the slightly less powerful but easier to play Yanfei.
Obviously you should ultimately roll for the characters that appeal to you most, but if Eula isn't of high appeal, I'd recommend waiting for the Inazuma characters to start coming. The first will be Kazuha, who will be the second banner for the 1.6 patch -- he looks to be a strong anemo support, and will likely be a great pick especially for players who don't have Venti.
And after that, it's looking like 1.7 (which might be 2.0?) will actually be the first patch with at least part of Inazuma in it, with a strong chance for two new five stars and possibly a new four star, all from Inazuma.
