That seems like a good thing. While the OG WoW (Sure, that works to call it that!) was great, but the game has to change with time. Good for them for making the change but with D4 on the horizon, there's absolutely no way I'm getting sucked back into an MMO!

You make a valid point! And what I meant was another MMO with D4 right around the corner. If I can get the playtime out of D4 that I did from WoW, EQ, or DAoC, I will be a happy Dethroned!

I had the opposite reaction. I was so jonesing for D4 after the betas that I used a discount on WoW Classic.

I've been playing Path of Exile but getting a little burned out on it. I might check out what I've been missing on Xbox Game Pass and pick up something that will take no longer than a month to complete
Anybody still playing WOW? I had a wild hair and redownloaded the game. I’ve been having fun unlocking the allied races now that they’ve made them far easier to get. Now I need to decide if I start over with a Zandalari Dino Druid or go straight into Dragonflight with my shammy.
Spent a couple hours in Classic Season of Discovery this week but most of my time has been with the new Path of Exile league. The stuff WoW is doing with the seasonal content has made me excited for future seasons even if Discovery is a little sparse.
My wife mentioned it and we may try again over the holiday.
Trying to decide if I only pay for Dragonflight or just get War Within.
I don’t think you can buy Dragonflight by itself any more. I believe your options are to get it in the War Within preorder bundle or wait until War Within launches and DF gets rolled into the subscription.

It was buried, but you can buy just DragonFlight... I still went ahead and got War Within.

I’ll probably pull the trigger as well since you get a 70 boost.
Dragonriding everywhere in patch 10.2.5 coming later this month.
Still playing. I'm enjoying it a lot, but I've always slow trotted WoW. I've never sprinted through the content hardcore. It's my casual palate cleanser and has been for years.
I’ve rejoined some friends in game and am looking at preordering War Within to get a lvl 70 boost so I can do some end level stuff. Has anyone gotten the boost who can give me some tips? Or should I just wait for the Mist of Pandaria remix and its exp boost?
Either works. If you friends are already endgame farming then I would boost so I could play with them right away. Leveling in MoP coming up looks cool and will a great way to level alts.
Leveling now is rather quick and the boosts are a good time saver. I guess it would just comes down to your available time and where level wise your friends were to me.

Thanks Medmey. Is high level play that hard to pick up on? I’m not looking to do mythic raids but maybe some dungeons and LFR.
If you aren't pushing the content into the highest difficulty, then it's pretty forgiving. The pre-order boost looks like it gives you enough gear to get started on content that's relevant to your friends.
I wouldn't ignore the leveling experience though. With the steady trickle of skill points and free respecs, the skill trees are pretty good for learning a class.
One more random tip: plug a controller in for Dragon Riding/Dynamic Flight.
Probably in the minority, but is anyone playing classic. I played in 2005 and not since, so I never played most of the original game and I am absolutely loving the experience.
Also, is there a GWJ guild on modern WoW? I go in every so often to keep leveling a character.
Played a bunch of Classic when it released, did all the raids again etc. Tbh, it is still the best version of WoW in many ways (and of course also lacking in others).
Season of Discovery sounds quite good, trying to recreate a sense of wonder, but I burned out after that one Classic do-over. Not because of Classic itself, just the general time commitment that endgame WoW asks for. Cant do it anymore. I hope War Within delivers a bit on allowing solo dungeons, might make me play some Retail WoW again.
Anyone playing Pandaria Remix or the War Within beta? I finally got my first Pandaria alt to 70. It's a lot of fun right until you hit close to max level (66+) then you'll feel severely underpowered until you run enough heroics/raids to power up your gear. And by underpowered, I mean dying to regular mobs in open world and having to heal up between fights.
I also got a beta invite but haven't tried it yet. Will probably fire it up later this week.
I have been doing Panda Remix on a Druid, it has been a fun alt version to play. Mostly just logging in now to do the daily dung/scenario/raid quests to earn bronze to buy all the rare mounts.
The mob scaling is much better than it was earlier for leveling 60-70. first few heroics I would tank I was just getting insta deleted by certain mobs, but now I can just pull huge packs at a time.
The War Within Expansion looks solid from what I have seen.
I surrendered to the hype and bought War Within and six months of game time. I am extremely rusty. I’m also having a little analysis paralysis trying to figure out which of the six (?!) versions of the game to play while waiting for The War Within. I don’t even have a level 70 character, but I do have the boost that came with the expansion package. Even more paralysis there trying to figure out which class I might enjoy most!
I’ll probably be hanging out on Staghelm with my long time horde buddies, but I am happy to be convinced to join an active group in one of the four Classic variants or in Remix.

I came back recently as well and found Remix to be the perfect way to ease back into leveling and group content. If you haven’t done Dragonflight it’s a decent story. Higher end content (heroics/mythic) can be pretty brutal.
My Devastation Evoker hit 70 today! Whee!
My urge to play is pretty bad. However, POE league comes out next Friday and I don't know if I can juggle both. I've been watching a friend stream the game (the remix) and it looks like a blast! I'm super afraid to load it up to play to level 20 and get hooked. Just too many games at the moment to play
When I preordered Dragonflight I also got The War Within. I'll have no choice but to come back and give it a try.
War Within prerelease content launches today. I'm going to start a new thread just for the new expansion, since it seems that what we do with these Wow threads.
