I am also happy to get back to basic blaseball before it gets super weird again. Nice for new fans, too.
My general starting strategy is max bet any team with >53% win chance, and the Garages. After a couple days I may also bet on teams with lower win chance if their record is really good.

I also look for teams that have much better records, but are less than a percentage point down in the odds. I figure it's near enough 50-50 that their record might be an indicator of a good chance in spite of the odds.
It looks like there is only one Decree to vote on instead of several, which is really unusual. I wonder if that is going to be some kind of theme for this era.

When you click the Choose button under the decree an info box pops up that says:
At the end of every Season, the Champion will trade away all of their Players.
Pretty rough even by Blaseball standards. Fans get really attached to their players.

I am making progress on updates to my site, but they made a few big changes and I already have a full time job. It'll get there.
Yeah, crazy record. I remember following them at the beginning and their first improbable run to the their first (and only, I think, I lost interest in the later seasons) championship (*pours one out for Wheels*) and that's one of my favorite internet friends memories...watching the live feed and cheering with the other Wings fans on the Discord.

A record that close doesn't mean much either way. Pitching rotation will have a big impact over 3 to 5 games. I expect the Wings will take whoever wins that matchup anyway.
Edit: and as soon as I hit Post, the Georgias hit a 3-run homer to break a tie and hold on for a win. Exciting!

It's up and running again, although probably buggy. I don't know what they are using for tiebreakers, so I have a kludge right now. But other than that, it's back to normal, I think.
Blaseball... Is now dead. You can see the farewell message at the site. Basically, financially unsustainable in anything like its current form, and too costly to fix. Employees are being given a soft landing.

Yeah, as a coder myself I am not really surprised. But as a fan I am so sad. I will always love my teams and the awesome hat I bought through Bladeball Cares. I'll pour myself a Juice Collins the next time I buy Gin.
I hope the Garages will keep making weird albums, it is such a fun weird vibe.

It's not clear where we'll end up, but there is a sizeable backlog of unfinished stuff that people have been working on off and on that will get rolled up into at least one more Garages release. Perhaps more... *cough*
Plus Fourth Strike is definitely going to remain a thing even if not focusing on Blaseball. The Garages have spawned a cornucopia of bands, many of which have other members or collaborators from The Garages. Looking at our internal list, there's 34 bands we've documented so far that are a project of one or more FS members.
I've personally done a ton of solo stuff since The Garages reawoke my music-writing, plus a collaboration with another FS bandmember which is coming to streaming tomorrow, actually. Plus I've had music/collaborations in the Putrid Shark game and the first 2 PS albums.
I also... uhh... had an idea and I actually played with implementing a bit of it this morning before work, lol.
I think it could work TBH.
