Well, I immediately wishlisted Max Gentleman, Wildermyth (which my wife bought during the recent Steam Sale ), and Signs of the Sojourner. Your experiences made me want to rush out and play all of them right now.

I was trying to think of other games that would be good for a blind/first date, but I was surprised how many options would require multiple controllers, systems, or games (Animal Crossing being the worst offender with needing two switches...) I think something that both people could work together to come up with a solution would work well, what about a point and click adventure, or the Myst series? The only downside I could see is focusing too much on advancing that you wouldn't be able to have normal conversation to get to know your date more!
It didn't occur to me at the time of recording, but Signs of the Sojourner would be a fantastic first date game. Mechanically it is straight forward, and there are a whole bunch of choices that could merit vigorous discussion. The content itself has the right blend of humor and emotional resonance that I think most people can find something in it to enjoy. Plus, a whole play through takes only a few hours, so conceivably it can be completed on the second date (or on a first date that is going very very well.)
LastSuprise: Destroyer of Wallets would be an excellent tag and/or third handle for you.
