I have CoH2 and never played it (picked it up in a Steam sale), which is why I voted for it.
I have (mostly) given up my pedantry vis a vis what a "strategy game" means.

Seems a reasonable tactic.

:)
More a long-term strategy, I'd say.
sh*t. I am doing it again.
To be clear - Is it Endless Space or Endless Space 2 or players choice? IIRC, I avoided ES2 because I didn't own it.
^Pretty sure it's Endless Space 2.
And I'll vote that way as well:
Endless Space 2
Another vote for ES2
Mechanicus for me. Purely because I've not played it before! (I've barely touched CoH2 either but there we go)
Put me down for Endless Space 2 as well.
The origina

I think the vote is for ES 2, but if you would prefer to play ES 1 I'm cool with that.
Good to know that's an option depending on how voting goes
I'll stick with voting my original #1 - Mechanicus
My vote is for WH 40K Mechanicus
I'd be open for joining CoH 2 multiplayer during International GWJ days if the time slots work out.
Not to bias the vote, but being that it was sitting there on Game Pass looking at me, I booted up Endless Space 2 last night, and lo-and-behold, it is a very functional 4X game. How do I know? Because it kept me up too late last night and I was tired this morning.
I vote for ES2.
ES2. Sorry for causing trouble before.
You didn't case trouble and I over-reacted. Apologies!
Virtual hugs all around.
Endless Space 2
And after I recheck my library, I do indeed have ES2 after all! See you all in the new thread
I was hoping for a game that was already in my library, unfortunately I don't have ES2 otherwise I would join you all. I played a little of ES1 which I really wanted to like but bounced off after a while. I look forward to following along to see how your experiences go with ES2.
I feel awful for voting last time and falling off really early. Study got really busy and I was already deep into pur current JRPG club.
But ES2 is a game I've poked around in briefly but enjoyed a lot. It's not as big of a commitment so I'd like to jump in and chat about it with you all
Since there was a lot of interest to play Warhammer 40k Mechanicus, thought i’d mention Steam has a weekend deal of 67% off in the States at least which brings it down to less than $10 US. I don’t have it yet so I’ll be grabbing it! Ends the morning of 10/19 10am PDT.

I spotted this too. it's free to play over the weekend as well.
Worth it for the soundtrack alone IMO. Loosely, it's dubstep gothic choir music and I think it's amazing.
Fantastic theming, clever mechanics, questionable balance. Still a no-brainer at that price, recommended.
I'm going to hold off playing Warhammer 40k Mechanicus in case it gets the vote next round. It's ready and waiting in my Steam library.
How's Endless Space 2 going for those playing it?
Good. Haven't played much and I'm very confused, but I'm having a grand old time enjoying all the great art!
I've been eyeing Mechanicus for a while, I'm going to try it out over the weekend and maybe jump on it if I like it.
I've so far played a throwaway game to learn the mechanics of ES2 again. I got my butt kicked, but I've got a good idea for how I'm going to approach the next session.
I'm diving back in this weekend, I'm only a few turns in. But I think my time in Endless Legend will help. So far I've got my first colony started and am still exploring and feeling out the economy and research as Sophons.
I feel like I'm about to start having a rough mid-game. I'm mostly done with the expansion part, and now am realizing I don't really understand the mid-game. I suspect I'm about to get stomped by a couple of AI players. I didn't realize a lot of things until too late this game , including system levels, colony limits and how to negotiate with terrorists AI (me: what will you need from me to trade me those 10 doohickeys, them: half of your colonies, your first born's soul, the life rights to your entire family, and every last luxury resource you own).
