Been a bit inactive lately, but would happily jump in and chat about

Warhammer 40K Chaosgate: Demonhunters (been on my to-play list for ages)
Company of Heroes 2 (bounced off on release as I had hundreds of hours in CoH1 and didn't like change )
Stellaris (I keep trying, but it's a lot to learn...)

------------

Regarding Rimworld, we have a fairly active thread on GWJ and I'd love to get more people into the game. Feel free to stop by if you're interested in it!

I was hoping that would be the choice since I picked it up on sale this summer and still haven't played it 3 months later. Alas...

Welcome back A_Unicycle! I’m happy to talk about strategy games in general and will definitely check out Rimworld. Just to confirm, do you want to vote for two other finalist games besides Chaosgate? Unfortunately, CoH 2 and Stellaris didn’t make it past the initial round.

40k: Gladius
Battlestar Galactica Deadlock
Anno 1800

My mistake Put me down for just Chaosgate please.

They Are Billions
Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock
Anno 1800

1:Anno 1800
2:Warhammer 40,000: Gladius
3:They Are Billions

By the way, I don't know that I ever got a promotion for finishing Invisible, Inc.? I've now done 3: Fell Seal, Endless Space 2 (a Retirement Throne Room finish) and Invisible, Inc.

I'm going to do promotions tomorrow for Invisible Inc but thank you for the reminder on the Throne Room!

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters
Anno 1800
Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock

When's the final?

Gladius is only on sale for 8 more hours. Hehe.

So I'm still holding a place for late votes since I said midnight Oct. 31. But here are the standings so far.

VOTING ROUND 1

Total Votes: 9
Votes needed for majority: 5

Warhammer 40K: Gladius - 3 votes
Warhammer 40K Chaosgate - 2 votes
Anno 1800 - 2 votes
BSG Deadlock and They Are Billions - 1 vote each

Going to second pick, BSG stays alive with another vote, Chaosgate picks up a vote, and They are Billions is eliminated. No clear winner yet.

VOTING ROUND 2

Total Votes: 9
Votes needed for majority: 5

Warhammer 40K: Gladius - 3 votes
Warhammer 40K Chaosgate - 3 votes
Anno 1800 - 2 votes
Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock - 2 votes

Going by ranked choice, Gladius picks up 2 more votes and as of 10:32 PST is winning.

These standings may change if there are last minute entries, but I'd recommend getting Gladius if you haven't already. It's a fantastic game and a steal for $4.

Don't think I've done final vote yet...

1: Gladius
2: Chaosgate
3: BG Deadlock

Dunno if that makes it any more or less clear....

That definitely helps! Gladius now has a clear lead, but I'll still keep polls open till midnight cause I said I would.

OK - the deadline has come and gone so it's time to do final voting!! Some late votes came in and I think I may have miscalculated so needing to redo the votes (sorry folks).

REVOTE ROUND 1

Total Votes: 11
Votes needed for majority: 7

Warhammer 40K: Gladius - 4 votes
Warhammer 40K Chaosgate - 3 votes
Anno 1800 - 2 votes
BSG Deadlock and They Are Billions - 1 vote each

Going to second pick, BSG stays alive with another vote, Chaosgate picks up a vote, and They are Billions is eliminated.

REVOTE ROUND 2

Total Votes: 11
Votes needed for majority: 7

Warhammer 40K: Gladius - 4 votes
Warhammer 40K Chaosgate - 4 votes
Anno 1800 - 2 votes
BSG - 2 votes

With Anno and BSG tied, second pick gives Gladius two extra votes and Chaosgate an extra vote. Sorry if I'm doing this wrong, but since Anno and BSG remain tied I think they're eliminated.

REVOTE ROUND 3

Total Votes: 11
Votes needed for majority: 7

Warhammer 40K: Gladius - 6 votes
Warhammer 40K Chaosgate - 5 votes

In the final round, Chaosgate picks up 2 votes. However, Gladius picks up the last one needed to get over the edge.

40K Gladius will be our next game! Check out the thread here.

Also, promotions are up! Double check to make sure they're correct please.

It's lonely at Staff Sergeant.

This is true IRL (I was briefly billeted to that role and then decided to get out of the Army rather than take the promotion long term).

I think I am missing one, played both old world and invisible inc. (A little bit of city skylines, but not enough to count in my mind).

Done! Once again I'm super flexible if you put a few hours in on Cities, but I kind of felt the same way which is why I didn't take the promotion.
